What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Journalists influence people's thoughts and decisions. Don't be a click baiter write with integrity and morals.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Just do it by email, please don't call me. If you ever call a journalist make sure you notice what time zone they are in.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Someone sent, me fresh main lobsters and a private chef to cook them in hopes to get my attention for a pitch.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
They come in all the time where you can't even tell what they are pitching. The ambiguous email//pitch that has no point.
What's your favorite drink?
cold herbal teas, water and wine
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Having Sushi, at an OC beach, park with my kid, hiking, gym, skiing, wine tasting, driving, cleaning the house, cooking or gardening.

No specific one. But love reading about advance SEO advice. From those who truly know what they are doing.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I own a publication on Venture Capital / Startup Funding and find people presume due to the topic a man owns the site.
