My Experience With Lila Exogen Wearable Resistance
Joe Stein · Follow 2 min read · -- I am currently a short sprinter on the track team at the University of Iowa. I have always been interested in speed training and researching how to improve. I believe much of what you hear about speed training are ideas repeated in an echo chamber. I believe in outside the box thinking. There are traditional approaches that have proven to be successful, but I am an advocate for exploring unorthodox approaches. I remember the first hime I was exposed to Lila Exogen.
Leveraging Technology to Build a Secure Cloud
For a variety of reasons, the financial industry requires technology built on a foundation of a robust set of security controls. Protecting sensitive data, meeting regulatory requirements, maintaining trust and reputation, preventing financial loss, ensuring system integrity and managing risk are some of the main drivers behind investors’ and managers’ expectations of security in the technology solutions they choose.

Bring On The Turkeys
No wildlife, fowl or otherwise, were injured in creating this Pumpkin Turkey. Photo by Leigh Sorensen By Leigh Sorensen So all the relatives are coming for Thanksgiving – his relatives, her relatives, old folks, teething tots, toddling house-wreckers, bored-to-tears teens. Even some in-laws and lonely neighbors. The football game will not be enough distraction. This Pineapple Turkey can be a great conversation starter at the dinner table.

Get started with Developing Frameworks in Go on Apache Mesos
Apache Mesos provides a platform for building distributed systems. Mesos is built using the same principles as the Linux kernel, only at a different level of abstraction. The Mesos kernel runs on every machine and provides applications (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Elastic Search) with API’s for resource management and scheduling across entire datacenter and cloud environments.

In this video recording of a talk by Skand Gupta, he discusses BVault, a massive, scalable, archiving and e-discovery solution for communications that has been adopted by more than 800 enterprises.
Require projects to have solid API docs
The Apache Kafka javadoc and scala doc are published with source and binaries https://archive.apache.org/dist/kafka/0.8.2.2/ and they can be generated from source. There is no javadoc for both producer and consumer (yet but you can generate from trunk for 0.9) because the new java consumer has been in development with testing underway now. If you want to consume from Kafka (as stable) using the project client you have to use the Scala consumer.

Should we dissolve the city and put the county in charge? (letter)
As a lifelong resident of the City of York, one who is engaged in the community and one who cares deeply about the city's well-being, I am very troubled by the proposed 2015 budget. That being said, I also fully understand the need for such cuts, as I — much like many other people — cannot and do not want to pay more taxes. While I would support some cuts and a modest increase in tax rates, it does nothing for the long term to solve the city's problems. What will happen in 2016 and beyond?
