This last Sunday, January 22nd of 2023 was an exciting and historic day for the Hawaiian Islands. The internationally acclaimed Eddie Aikau Big Wave Surf Invitational was held for the 10th time. Since its inception in 1984, excited fans wait with anticipation each year as the north shore surf builds for the season. If the waves hit the right height, of at least 40ft, they will run the competition. This year the waves were looking good, and the organizers announced the competition for January 11th.
