Rui’s Career Night Propels Lakers Past Jazz
With both defenses in All-Star Break mode, the Lakers had the right amount of offensive firepower to overwhelm Utah and continue their flaming start to February. As LeBron James (left ankle) watched from home, Anthony Davis and Rui Hachimura made for a defense-destroying duo in the Lakers’ 138-122win, which put them at a 6-1 beginning to the month. The Jazz had no answer for Davis at the rim, as he racked up 37 points and 15 rebounds.
Lakers' Offense Continues to Soar Despite Preseason Loss to Warriors
The threes were falling, the celebrations were out, and the Lakers continued to flaunt a sizzling offense in their return to Crypto.com Arena five months after their prior season ended in the Western Conference Finals. Lakers Eliminate Grizzlies with 40-Point Rout
It was the biggest party Downtown L.A. has seen in years — the Lakers and 18,997 of their closest friends. In knocking off second-seeded Memphis, the Lakers became the first seven seed to win their first-round series in 13 years. They also became the lowest-seeded team in franchise history to advance.

The first-year Laker currently leads the postseason in bench scoring with 21.7 points per game, on an ultra-efficient clip of 66.7% from the field and 75.0% from 3-point range. Hachimura’s consistency has him reaching a new accolade every night. Game 1: Tied Mychal Thompson’s franchise playoff bench scoring record.

The 27-year-old returned from a six-game absence as a human firework show, pouring in 28 points and nine assists to lead the Lakers to a come-from-behind 122-112 victory over Toronto. Russell was at his best when it mattered most, scoring 16 points in the fourth quarter alone on a perfect 5-for-5 clip from the field. Vanderbilt Provides Spark; Lakers Complete Biggest Comeback in 21 Years
After only 17 minutes of basketball, the Lakers were staring down the barrel of a 27-point deficit. Their 3-point shooting was in a full drought, and league scoring leader Luka Doncic was dissecting their defense. Enter Jarred Vanderbilt. Beloved across the league for his high-motor style of play, Vanderbilt was a one-man renewable energy source for the Lakers, who incredibly surged back for their biggest comeback since 2002 with a 111-108 win in Dallas.

Lakers Cruise in Battle Between Shorthanded Squad
Talk about a balanced attack. Despite missing four members of the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team, the Lakers managed to snap their eight-game losing streak with quintessential team basketball. Eight of the nine players who appeared for the Lakers scored in double figures, as they were able to keep Oklahoma City at bay, 120-101, in their final home game of the season. Stanley Johnson led the charge for the Lakers, scoring a team-best 21 points with eight rebounds.
Anthony Davis' Elite Production in the Paint
For a player often categorized as a new-school big man, Anthony Davis sure loves himself a matchup that allows himself to rewind the game back to ‘90s bully ball. See Davis’ game-within-the-game against Chimezie Metu in Tuesday’s comeback over Sacramento: Five times AD went back-to-the-basket against Metu and found the bucket.
Carmelo's Sizzling Shooting Igniting Lakers
Three fingers tapping the head three times. It’s become a familiar sight at STAPLES Center. Whether you’re on the Lakers’ bench or one of the 18,997 in attendance, Carmelo Anthony’s signature 3-point celebration is being put to a lot of use this season. And for good reason. Anthony has started his first year with the Lakers hotter than the California sun, ranking fourth in the NBA in made 3-pointers (24) and sixth in 3-point percentage (52.2).
