John Cory Anderson’s Biography
My name is John "Cory" Anderson. I currently reside in Sevierville, Tennessee. Currently, I am earning my Masters in Instructional Technology. I graduated in 2020 with my Bachelors in Elementary Education. While pursuing my education, I have been employed within the education realm under various titles. My career began as a a substitute teacher in 2011. After graduating with my Associates degree, I transitioned into a Special Education paraprofessional title. This position allowed me to gain many skills working with all students. TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) is training required for this position, which I have maintained. After, I transitioned to work with small groups of kindergarten and first grade students. I have gained experience with RTI, teaching ESL students, dealing with behavior students, students with various disabilities (On the Spectrum, learning disabled and blind students), various assessments, and teaching small groups in a daily setting. Currently, I have worked the past two years as a 5th grade teacher. Tests have proven my ability to teach students to compose essays effectively, as my class last year scores 3% higher than the state average.
My short term goals are remain as an elementary school teacher and teaching as an adjunct instructor. I hope to eventually transition into administration. Since I have a diverse background in education, I hope to use my current skills and what I will learn in the future to train other teachers.
