Cowen: Brownsville-Matamoros can become the most important trade corridor in the world
Good afternoon, everyone. I'm going to go off script a little bit. I think that's appropriate right now because we are absolutely at an historic time here in the City of Brownsville. Not only for Brownsville but for our region, our bi-national region. I think it was mentioned earlier. We have the potential of being the most important trade corridor, not only in our region but in the world. We have the potential from an asset perspective, from a labor perspective.

Cowen: Why I support a tax abatement for Saronic Technologies
Good afternoon, Honorable Judge and Commissioners Court. It's a pleasure to be here with you all. I'm coming here to speak in favor of this project. For me, today's discussion is more than one project. It's about the kind of city we want to build for the next generation. When we evaluate opportunities like this, and my understanding is this is the largest economic development project in the United States in terms of job creation, our responsibility is clear.

From Catsuka on Twitter and beyond.

Cowen: I believe passing the Visitor Tax allocation is a step forward – Rio Grande Guardian
Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... For the May 3rd election, there will be an item related to a potential Cameron County Arena development. This proposition, if approved, would allow the Visitor Tax that is already being collected on hotel rooms (2%) and rental cars (5%) in Cameron County to be used towards a potential Arena development in Cameron County. It is important to note this would not be a new tax to the residents of Cameron County.

BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Border communities often have the answer to border-specific issues, such as improving truck movements across land ports of entry, and the federal government should listen. Foreman: Texas Leads the Way in Energy and Economic Growth – Rio Grande Guardian
In a world where the specter of economic downturn is ever looming, there’s a beacon of hope: energy. Particularly, oil and natural gas. “Where there’s energy, there’s economic growth,” is more than just a catchphrase—it’s the economic pulse check of our time. While some investors have hedged bets against the economy, we shouldn’t be too hasty in our forecasts. The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) suggests global oil demand is set to reach record heights in 2023 as well as 2024.
Perryman: LNG – Rio Grande Guardian
The United States now exports more liquefied natural gas (LNG) than any other country. It’s a relatively new development, with Australia and Qatar usually topping the rankings in the past. The volume of US exports has surged over the past few years, with major new facilities coming online and strong global demand. While Australia and Qatar volumes have been fairly stable since 2018, US exports have basically quadrupled.
Ramsey: Is “C” for Cancer or Cosmetics? – Rio Grande Guardian
Recently I had surgery on my nose for Cancer. I was told that if I could maintain the bandage for seven days, I would have a better Cosmetic result. In my opinion, Cancer is an evil dropped down on the human race. Like a net, it stretches out to trap as many victims as it can. Unfortunately, the net is spreading more and more and faster and faster. Why? Because of greed for money and power, ignorance, and carelessness. On the other hand, Cosmetics easily enhances beauty. The VISION of beauty.
