Have you ever used a typewriter?
I'm using a typewriter right now. Not really. But yes, yes I have. I have even had the experience of paying by the hour to use one.
How is social media changing news?
Mostly it seems to be increasingly ignoring and marginalizing it—which is not good!
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
MacBook Air, Samsung Galaxy S22, Canon EOS 800D, Photoshop, BBEdit, Git, Cyberduck, W3C and schema validators
What's your favorite social network?
Not the fashionable answer, but I'll say Flickr. So much great work—and genuine community of sorts rather than manipulation by an algorithm.
What's your favorite drink?
Beer! Coffee a close second. Also like sparkling water. Also Dr. Pepper when made with cane sugar.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the kitchen or in the garden, at or watching a Chicago Fire or Chicago Red Stars soccer game, at a brewery, or just maybe at a concert.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I am a huge fan of the English quarterly football magazine The Blizzard. Incredible writing in every issue on the infinite world of soccer.
