The People Issue (2022)

The People Issue (2022)

Chicago Reader — “Refreshed and revisited, the People Issue's class of 2022 showcases folks from many walks of life … ” I did a lot of work on the responsive web design, formatting, and navigation for this, a self-contained microsite-like presentation of multiple pages of content distinguished from the look and feel of the rest of the site while remaining within the main CMS and conforming to the site’s overall brand in style and structure.

Best of Chicago 2021

Best of Chicago 2021

Chicago Reader — This was the final “Best of” package I worked on from start to finish at the Reader. I built and published, as well as helped edit, fact-check, promote, and tally, online ballots for main and bonus rounds of open nominations and for multiple-choice voting to determine winners and runners-up from the finalists. I compiled and helped edit the final copy listing winners and runners-up and built corresponding webpages as well as flowed that copy into InCopy/InDesign templates for publication of the print edition. Working with art and production, editorial, sales, and ad operations colleagues, I designed the overall web experience and navigation and help assure quality for publication.

The 18 most-read stories of 2018 by month

Chicago Reader — A look at the Reader's top stories of 2018 as determined by number of pageviews in each month of the year-an admittedly dubious method that nonetheless does resurface some really great reads. In some months there were virtual ties, which conveniently let me pad this out to the 18 most-read stories.
