Stone Age “eco” home found at Stonehenge dig The ground-breaking discovery of a Stone Age “eco” home – the oldest sign of settlement yet found in the Stonehenge landscape – could be under threat if controversial Government-backed plans for a tunnel go through the ancient site. A planned 1.8 mile (2.9km) tunnel would run within 20 metres of the unparalleled archaeological find, and possibly obliterate other hidden secrets of our Stone Age forefathers, as yet unearthed.
The Megalithic Portal and Megalith Map:
The original St Silin's Well which rose in a field behind the drinking fountain is now covered and presumed lost. A member of the local conservation society says that the fountain was erected as a tribute to Dr Walter James Junior, who sponsored a scheme to pipe water from St Silin's Well in a field behind Tyn Llan. The well has been covered over and there is now nothing to see. The fountain was converted to mains water, probably before 1940.

I am waiting to be reported to the General Medical Council. I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong, but I’m pretty sure that a patient I saw a couple of months ago has grave suspicions about me. He is a very clever man, now in his mid-80’s. His mind is sharp, but perhaps less flexible and less able to come at issues from different angles than it could do 40 years ago. He doesn’t remember, but he was a professor who taught me physiology when I was a medical student then.
