A Florida woman sued Lyft earlier this month, alleging that she was raped by her Lyft driver in 2019 and that the assault resulted in the birth of her third child. The suit is the latest in a string of sexual assault allegations involving the company. Lyft has pushed back on the allegations in the lawsuit, telling CNN in a statement that the alleged assault took place during an “off-app” ride hours after an official Lyft ride with the same driver.

If lawmakers don’t pass the bills, the government “shuts down.” Meaning, that federal agencies will stop all non-essential functions until Congress acts, typically with temporary spending bills.

By Clare Duffy, CNN Video by John General, Deborah Brunswick and FJ Feng, CNN New York (CNN) — Warmer and cleaner waters off the coast of Long Island, New York, in recent years have brought growing numbers of bait fish to the area — and with them, the bigger fish that eat them, including sharks. In some ways, it’s a good sign for the environment. But it’s a different story for swimmers, surfers and beach goers.
