The availability of news is on demand, but it's also becoming devalued because of that availability.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To celebrate success; to inform about what's important and to enjoy the reporting experience.

Wordpress, Word, Google, email, Skype, voice-to-text software.

Why did you become a journalist?

In order to help my daughter complete her cancer treatment, we explored a world of science fiction and fantasy together. I began to write.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Yeah but who cares about my expose about the principal cancelling student tutor programs to save money?

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My article for BACK ISSUE #88 where I wrote a complete overview about the 1980's Marvel magazine, EPIC, ILLUSTRATED.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

I wouldn't presume to know more than they do as I'm still amassing advice for myself.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Via the internet, any time is a good time.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

The one I haven't written yet.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Yet to receive it. However, when asked to write stories that are regurgitative, I tend to visibly cringe.

What's your favorite drink?

A Muskoka Mug.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Reading, teaching, running, spending time with my girls.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

DC and Marvel Comics

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That that's all I like.
