I have covered sports since 1982, beginning at the Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle.

After nearly 25 years there, I did editing and production work for Fox Sports.com, followed by writing and consulting for CBS Interactive.

I love watching track and field, and fencing. Since neither gets much love except in Olympic years, I focus on college and professional sports.
