Science and Technology Committee report on UK space strategy published
This is why trust is essential and why arrogance can be deadly. Watch this video and pay attention to where I am looking. More importantly, where I'm not looking... forward. The pilot in the jet next to me is also looking to his right. And on the right side of the formation, both pilots are looking left. None of us are looking at our airspeed, our altitude, or where the ground is. Even when we're pointed straight down at nearly 500 mph, not one of us turns our head to look forward.
Controversy! I’ll explain the background to the Ligado situation…
Posted By John Pottle, 2 hours ago I’m outraged! How could they! We’ve been living here happily for years, minding our own business. We’ve based so many decisions on things we thought we could rely on. We thought this was a quiet residential community out in the so-called Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) district. And then, all of a sudden, approval has been granted for these huge noisy “new age” developments next door. It’s going to affect us, for sure. We’re a bit concerned.

The space-based augmentation systems will also be covered: what are these and how do they help?
Working together for a more navigable world - GPS World
“Diverse teams bring diverse ideas to the table, and that’s the best way to progress.” So said Professor Sheila Rowan, the UK government’s chief scientific advisor to Scotland, opening the Royal Institute of Navigation’s 2019 International Navigation Conference. Professor Rowan’s comments set the scene perfectly. Success in navigation is no longer about just getting a fix, or even an accurate fix.

The RAF could not have timed it better - the conclusion of the pre-lunch drinks coincided perfectly with the RAF 100 anniversary fly-past. The more organised guests took up positions on the roof next to the RIN Director's office, many more gathered in the gardens of the Royal Geographical Society. No sooner had the Red Arrows completed the fly-past, we all repaired for lunch before the start of the AGM. The AGM business included election of new President, Vice Presidents and Trustees.
