Problem with opening O/U after discharge
We have two Browning Citori CX (10 years old +-, one a micro) that usually open easily, but now both have difficult openings where we need to use force by opening over our knees many times a round. With no firing, the guns are easily opened. Using 12ga Federal Top Gun 1200 and 1145 fps 11/8 ammo bought at the club. We use this brand for last 5000 shots and this situation has occurred. Guns have been cleaned and lubed. Only seems to occur after five +- shells have been fired in trap or 5 stand round.

Hello all. Been lurking for a while and decided to finally join. A lot of good info on this site and I appreciate most of the humor. Looking forward to getting more involved.
Where to buy 12ga Trap ammo in Metrowest MA / southern NH?
Don't really need them close. They run $1/box off shotshells sales and free shipping every 6-8 weeks lately. Combined with 7% AJ click thru rewards that's the best online pricing for shotshells I've seen all calendar year. $8ish/box Fiocchi/Topgun/Super Target/Gun Clubs and $10ish/box STS/AA's delivered 3 days later is hard to beat.
Hello all, new member in MA
Welcome from MA . Where do you shoot? 870 is a great starter which we used for 3 years. Try to find a used Browning Citori CX or spend more to obtain the best gun for the money. We have shot ours for almost 10 years and 100,000 shells. Whatever you buy get it fitted.

I am not going, but would really like to go to an event for the day as a spectator. I am not good enough to participate, but I would very much like to go to a large event. Is there a good internet link to find an event that would be close to me?
Long Waited Return…………..Nervous
I’ll try to keep it short. Last summer in August I tore my shoulder up in a freak incident working on something for one of my kids. Pretty bad with rotator cuff and bicep tendons torn. Put a real damper on my shooting, hunting and fishing along with everything thing else I have to do at home basically. Operation took place in March, 8 weeks later PT started. Still in it, probably be doing it for months because it’s not getting back to normal any time soon or ever I guess.
Hull Littering
When and why do shooters eject their fired shells on the ground for someone else to pick up? Was it started by semi shooters or what? Personally, we catch our ejecting empties and place them in our pouches. We hope to learn this answer as at last night's shoot I was asked why folks fling their empties out by a brand new shooter.

8's and 9's for Turkeys
In my times in the past this size shot was not used. Hear more hunters going to it. My trap shooting buddy (RIP) said it was his secret weapon in Ohio. What are you using?
New Guy From MI
Hello all, I am relatively new to the sport really only getting into it last year but having a ton of fun. Thanks for having me!
Greetings from Indiana
Hello everyone. I am a novice at clay shooting and enjoy reading about other people's experiences and learning anything I can to build confidence and skill. I mainly shoot clays in my back fields and seem to do okay at it most days. I have been to an actual range once and I enjoyed it. Hope to go more in the future but driving across the county and spending a lot of money isn't always in the budget.
Opening Citori CX Issue
My gun would not open on several occasions after shooting one or two shells on 5 stand. After putting it over my knee it opened. The lever worked fine but it would not open or unlock. It had been cleaned 2 days before. 80,000 rounds have been fired so I am wondering if a part needs replacement.
Older guns available
If you have been looking for an older Winchester, Remington, Colt, Smith and Wesson or whatever I have a new customer that has acquired his deceased father's gun collection. He says that the collection has over 2000 guns. Whatever you are looking for , he probably has it. Send me a PM email Mike Battista 727 410 5212

What is your must watch for Trap shooting on YouTube?
#1 · Trap or shotgunning related, Olympic events, Professional events, instructional, historical ? What would you recommend someone watch that you have enjoyed or learned from. Thanks #2 · Russel Mark has many videos with a lot of good information. They are called Go Shooting, I think. #3 · Trap Talk with Ricky Marshall. #4 · Chris Batha Trap Shooting. #5 · Search YouTube for Trapshooting with Frank Hoppe. #6 · Anything and everything. Great Trap Talk interview with Kay Ohye.
7 1/2 vs 8’s
#2 · #3 · I'm 100% sure this is because the guys are missing just slightly, but I saw over a dozen instances in a single round of Federal Top Gun 9/8s oz #8s create a cloud of dust off a clay and not break it. Happened over and over. I've been buying the 1 oz #7.5s from the same counter and have had a 23.5 average over my last 36 boxes, and have not been having the same problem as them.
Hello from NC
Hello All, Nice to meet you all virtually. I am from NC, Charlotte. I was in NJ earlier and am looking to find a place for Bunker Trap or Olympic Trap in Charlotte, NC. Any recommendations?
Surprise! Yellow 12 ga. Shell
Out shooting today using Nobles International a low recoil yellow colored shell came out of the box of orange shells. First I thought a 20ga got into my shell pouch. Checking out the metal end it had 12 and then Australia imprinted in the metal. Surprise surprise! Do others see this yellow 12 ga.shell.
Who shoots a Citori Composite?
#2 · A guy who shoots wobble trap with us occasionally shoots one. He told me to heft it right after he bought it. Seemed very barrel heavy to me but beyond that it was okay. #3 · Specs seem light - Browning site says 30" is 7.5#, but i wonder about balance. Maybe adding weight back in the stock? #4 · Finally met a shooter who bought one. He loves it. #5 · It won't be any more useful in the rain than a Browning CX would be.
Why K80. (SERVICE!!!)
#2 · #3 · Definitely a head scratcher for sure. #4 · Maybe because you will get faster service from Ottsville? #9 · That's what I get for "x" when I solve this one. Larry #5 · Isn't the B25 shotgun a Browning? #6 · That was my thought. Not sure where the K80 comes into play. #7 · #8 · I'm thinking he his unsatisfied with the service from Browning, and considering changing to Krieghoff. His inquiry is why people think the K80 is THE gun to shoot.
ANYONE USE OLDER AUTOMATIC FLY REELS WHEN FLY FISHING?
I was at a flea market this past weekend and saw a vendor who had a vintage South Bend "OREN-O-MATIC" automatic fly reel on their table. Does anyone on here still use one of these vintage automatic fly reels when fly fishing?
how soon to call for a target ?
#1 · I was waiting for the squad I was on the shoot when I noticed a shooter mounting his gun before the previous shooter called for the target. a few times it looked like he was going to shoot the target. he also called for his that quickly, he would get the same angel target as the previous shooter. how soon after the previous guy shoots before you mount your gun ?
Have Shot at Any New Gun Clubs?
As my wife and I travel we enjoy shooting at local gun clubs. We find them welcoming like yesterday at Imperial Polk Gun Club in Winter Haven Florida. Could not have been a nicer experience. We will be back as we have left MA until April. Melt snow melt! Hope you have had this experience. Retired and spending our kids inheritance.
SC clays
#1 · I have also moved to Myrtle Beach recently. I've yet to find a place to shoot clays, or a group to work with. Shot skeet years ago, been shooting trap for a few years, and I miss it. Any suggestions? Sort by #2 · Use claytargetsonline.com In Aynor, SC Wildlife Action is a very friendly club. Members and guest but will help you get membership. Big 50 too Go online for contact info. We shot there last Winta during our MB stay. Great trap, skeet fun. 45 minute drive.
Doubles with a pump
#1 · So as the title says, I've started shooting doubles with a pump. A bit of a handicap, I must admit. Besides buying a semi auto or double barrel, do folks have any advice or suggestions on shooting doubles well with a pump?
The Amateur Trapshooter Association - The current opinions and ideas for ATA and its future
#2 · Some thoughts from me, yeah I like the USA HS league as I coach it, but really it is kind of a racket. What they have a handful of employees maybe. They provide a few medals and patches, and tally scores between schools, other then that they don't do much. They don't have any employees setting traps or keeping score, have zero facilities or traps or equiptment to maintain, they arent throing a single target. Then they get $45 from each athlete per season.
Welcome!!!
So many new members recently that I want to say welcome and enjoy the forums. So many experienced shooters here you may learn something that won't cost you $$$ to learn. On your list of things to do is save up for a clinic. I and my wife personally enjoyed several Nora Ross clinics in NC. Hope you all smile returning from the firing line.
Citori CX/CXT POI question!
The 60/40 notation seems silly and misleading. Then again so are ported barrels and Browning loves those. Imo the CX line of guns might be better designated low rib, mid rib high rib. I shoot a CX with adj comb for SC and skeet, shoots about 4" high at 13yds. I like it that way. My trap gun set up is very similar. How the beads stack up I'm not even sure, I'd have to go mount the gun to tell you. When I'm shooting I try to not look at the beads, creates bad habits.
