The Dead Zone - Film and Storytelling
Hello Everyone! Thank you so much for your support so far. We wanted to send a quick update since we are now 30 days away from our crowdfunding deadline! We have raised over $12,000 from 102 supporters! Because of your generosity, we will be able to continue work with our editor to weave together the final scenes in the film! BUT we only get those funds if we raise 80% of our goal (which means we need to raise $42,000 by the deadline of August 28th).
The engaged action hypothesis: Explaining the merits of external focus cues
1 INTRODUCTION A substantial body of literature supports the attentional focus effect, which is the theory that focusing on the body during skilled tasks—focusing, for example, on the movement of one's arms in a golf swing—leads to suboptimal results relative to focusing on something external to the body, though still connected to the skill—such as focusing on the path of the golf club during a swing. As Chua et al.
DODGY KEEPER TOLD TO PAY £6K FOR DEFRAUDING ONLINE SELLERS
A goalkeeper turned fraudster has been ordered to repay nearly £6,000 after swindling online sellers out of highend goods and running out of a holiday cottage without paying. Kieran Gordon (35), a former Newry City footballer and Loughinisland GAA player who was once jailed for faking his own kidnapping, previously admitted three charges of fraud and one of making off without paying.
KIDS' KUNG FU TUTOR ROUNDS ON PRESS AT FAR-RIGHT RALLY; Reporters told they're 'not welcome'
A children's martial arts instructor has been filmed berating members of the press alongside far-right agitators at an anti-immigration protest held outside Stormont. Nicola Cree, who runs a Matt Fiddes Martial Arts school in north Belfast, was seen telling reporters and photographers they were "not welcome" at the public demonstration during heated exchanges. The footage was circulated on social media after around 100 anti-immigration protesters gathered near Parliament Buildings last Saturday.

Spinodal decomposition and phase separation in polar active matter
We develop and study the hydrodynamic theory of flocking with autochemotaxis. This describes large collections of self-propelled entities all spontaneously moving in the same direction, each emitting a substance which attracts the others (e.g., ants). The theory combines features of the Keller-Segel model for autochemotaxis with the Toner-Tu theory of flocking.
Following Your Nose: Autochemotaxis and Other Mechanisms for Spinodal Decomposition in Flocks
We develop the hydrodynamic theory of dry, polar ordered, active matter (“flocking”) with autochemotaxis; i.e., self-propelled entities moving in the same direction, each emitting a substance which attracts the others (e.g., ants). We find that sufficiently strong autochemotaxis leads to an instability to phase separation into one high and one low density band.

Orangewoman admits assaulting four people during drunken brawl on Jet2 flight
A mother-of-two charged with endangering an aircraft during a brawl on board a Jet2 flight admitted assaulting four people and being drunk on a plane. Heather Anne McCarroll (38) entered guilty pleas to four counts of assault and getting on an aircraft while intoxicated during a summons hearing in Ballymena on Monday. She is further charged with threatening air crew, endangering an aircraft, damaging a bathroom belonging to Jet2 and failing to obey the lawful command of a pilot.

Strabane farmer shatters Irish lamb shearing record
A TOP sheep shearer has shattered an Irish record after a gruelling nine-hour stint, taking the clippers to a total of 858 lambs. Strabane farmer Tom Perry (33) had to go at some clip to break the Irish nine-hour solo lamb shearing record of 708, baa-t managed it with an hour and 39 minutes to spare in Templepatrick on Saturday. Competitive shearer Tom took the title from previous holder Stanley Allingham, from Co Fermanagh, which he had held since 2019.
Family forced to flee their home as sick neighbours scream abuse at disabled schoolgirl
A couple with a disabled child have said they were forced to flee their home by abusive neighbours who called them “sp****c breeders”. Darren and Anna Wylie left Carrickfergus after eight years of threats, name-calling and intimidation. The matter came to a head in December when three of their neighbours were prosecuted for a late-night mob attack on the Wylie household.

Roughening of two-dimensional interfaces in nonequilibrium phase-separated systems
Abstract I show that nonequilibrium two-dimensional interfaces between three-dimensional phase separated fluids exhibit a peculiar “sublogarithmic” roughness. Specifically, an interface of lateral extent L will fluctuate vertically (i.e., normal to the mean surface orientation) a typical rms distance w≡〈|h(r,t)|2〉∝[ln(L/a)]1/3 [where a is a microscopic length, and h(r,t) is the height of the interface at two-dimensional position r at time t].
Hydrodynamic theory of two-dimensional incompressible polar active fluids with quenched and annealed disorder
Abstract We study the moving phase of two-dimensional (2D) incompressible polar active fluids in the presence of both quenched and annealed disorder. We show that long-range polar order persists even in this defect-ridden two-dimensional system. We obtain the large-distance, long-time scaling laws of the velocity fluctuations using three distinct dynamic renormalization group schemes.

Letter: Toner backs Budkins for town clerk
I’ve known Jackie Budkins for many years and throughout those years, I’ve always been consistently impressed with her volunteerism, hard work and her commitment to our community. As a former Greenwich selectman, I am well aware of the temperament and characteristics that are needed for elected positions. Jackie embodies these qualities — integrity, competence and being people-centric. She brings a vast amount of knowledge about Greenwich and the town clerk’s office.
Keys To Nourishing CBD Skin Care Growth
By John Toner & Diva Chan, Aprinnova11.02.20 Consider recent data collected by Mintel. In the U.S. 44% of adults have prioritized mental well-being since the start of COVID-19. Some of the fastest growing skin care claims are “environmentally-friendly” and “free-from” in new product launches. About 58% of U.S. adults who currently use CBD take the compound to reduce stress; 52% find the anti-inflammatory benefits of beauty products that contain hemp or CBD appealing.

Films That Show Sexual Assault Culture in America
Rape culture is so ingrained in our lives and culture that too often, we simply fail to notice it. This became shockingly clear to me recently when I revisited a few of the most iconic contemporary films of the last few decades, only to find their instances of rape, objectification, and sexual assault have largely been completely overlooked or widely justified. Spoiler alert: Harvey Weinstein didn't produce any of these movies.
Foreign investor knew about land discounts
THE CANADIAN investor who bankrolled the North West Point development knew that Belonger discounts were used to purchase the land on his behalf, the SIPT court heard. David Wex, a property developer based in Toronto, Canada, even had the Belongers used to purchase the land sign indemnity agreements to prevent him being chased to pay back the discount.
Mapping two-dimensional polar active fluids to two-dimensional soap and one-dimensional sandblasting
In this section, we give the details of the derivation of the linearized theory of incompressible polar active fluids. We begin with the linearized equation of motion, obtained by expanding equation (6) of the main text to linear order in the fluctuation u of the velocity around its mean value : where the superscript ‘0’ means that the v-dependent coefficients are evaluated at v=v , and we define the ‘longitudinal mass’ .
