John Stevens remembers trying to find, and cook, a turkey while teaching in Turkey a few years back. Christmas has always been a special time of the year for me. When I was in Turkey in 2013, people there told me they celebrate Christmas. Sure, there may be some decorations in the streets and stores, but it falls far short of a Canadian Christmas. As an English teacher in Istanbul, I resolved to create Christmas Day as close as I could to what I would experience at home.
