John Florio’s Biography
John Florio is a freelance author and journalist. He is the author of Marked Man: Frank Serpico's Inside Battle Against Police Corruption; Doomed: Sacco, Vanzetti, and the End of the American Dream; War in the Ring: Joe Louis, Max Schmeling, and the Fight between America and Hitler; One Nation Under Baseball: How the Sixties Collided with the National Pastime; and One Punch from the Promised Land: Leon Spinks, Michael Spinks, and the Myth of the Heavyweight Title. His work has been published by the New York Times, the New Yorker, the Atlantic, Vice, and ESPN's "The Undefeated." John is also a novelist; his most recent title is Blind Moon Alley.
John is on the faculty of the Stonecoast MFA program at the University of Southern Maine. He holds an MFA from the University of Southern Maine, an MBA from St. John’s University, and an MA from New York University.
