Du Hast - You Have or You Hate?
10 Rammstein's song "Du Hast" apparently means "You Hate", but "You Hate" in German is "Du Hasst". However, "Du Hast" means "You Have" in German. Is "Du Hast" supposed to mean "You Have" or "You Hate"? Is it intentionally spelled incorrectly? asked May 7 '17 at 23:42 anonymousanonymous 30311 gold badge33 silver badges88 bronze badges 15 It's an intentional play on words.
Who played the Oz head in the "Wizard of Oz"?
Asked Viewed 5k times At the conclusion of 1939's "Wizard of Oz", the party of travelers finally gets an audience with the great and terrible Wizard of Oz, a huge, disembodied head given to imperious, bellowing pronouncements. Who played this strange character? asked Dec 5, 2017 at 20:09 https://web.archive.org/web/20080524211727/http://www.preservehollywood.org/DungeonWebNew/In%20The%20Blood.html This archive states Hull was a great make up artist.
Is it really possible to produce 99.9% crystal meth?
Yes, it's possible. In theory, it's possible to produce a 100% pure sample of any substance; if you isolated and removed any molecules that were not those of your target chemical. The trick is that it's usually very impractical to do so, for various reasons. The cost of purifying chemicals rises sharply as the purity goes up, because you need more expensive and sensitive equipment, or more complex reactants, etc.
Why do people repeatedly hit the phone hook switch when disconnected?
Watching a "Columbo" episode recently (c.1971), it had a scene that I realized I used to see a lot in older movies and TV shows. A woman is talking on her rotary phone, when the person on the other end is suddenly cut off. "Hello?" she says. Then she rapidly presses the hook switch of the phone several times, all the while saying "Hello? HELLO?" How was pressing the hook switch repeatedly supposed to help? Was it supposed to restore certain kinds of lost connections?
How far does Marlin travel to find Nemo?
Ok, so Marlin and Nemo live in the Great Barrier Reef which is located off the coast of Queensland in north east Australia. From there he wanders around and hops aboard the East Australian Current (EAC), which luckily enough passes right through the Great Barrier Reef and passes by Sydney in the south east of Australia. Using Google Maps' measuring tool to plot a (very) rough course between the Great Barrier Reef and Sydney we find that Marlin traveled the equivalent of 1275 miles (2040 KM).
Is it REALLY as easy to knock someone out in real life as in the movies?
As a child I watched (with my father) a boxing match which lasted 12 rounds. At the end neither fighter resembled his previous pretty self, but nobody got knocked out either. I just watched Terra Nova where the main character layed out a kidnapper in one punch. I've seen this a lot in movies. In the movies is SO easy to lay someone out by landing a fairly decent blow to the head. So I have to ask: Are movies giving an over-simplistic idea of how easy it is to knock someone out?
Link-only answers: bad. But what about link-only tag wikis?
We had the same discussion on GIS SE Meta about 18 months ago as Are Tags wikis with just an URL Ok? My answer there, which was the most upvoted and accepted, was: I think a tag wiki with just a bare URL should be rejected so you have my full support on the policy outlined in your Question. This may sometimes be coming about because new tag wiki writers are trying to write the tag wiki itself where the tag excerpt should go, because it is presented first.

Why do some movies start with a big rotating circle and countdown?
What you're talking about is a Film Leader. Originally, a frame was inserted once every 16 frames (16 frames per foot for 35mm film) with numbers marked 11 to 3. At some point in the mid 1960's that was changed to a continuous countdown with a new number every second (time interval as opposed to length interval) that ran backwards from 8 to 2. If you google "Film Leader Countdown", you should be able to find a number of examples on YouTube and Vimeo.
What is the symbolism of eating Chinese take-out in a scene?
I do think you have something in thinking that Chinese food has a particular significance as take-out. There's an aura of a comfortable, but pressured, environment, where people are banding together to get stuff done. But, enough of my personal opinion and on to some quotes and particular examples. Much of this is cribbed from TV Tropes.
In the Sopranos, what is the meaning of Chris Moltisanti staring at an anonymous young family in the street?
Though somewhat opinion based, I think it's relatively safe to assume that this seals Adriana's fate. Chris sees his future family life in the gas station: nagging kids, annoying wife, a beat up car and, most importantly, a very tired and fed-up looking husband. Chris's face says it all, this is not the future for him. His next move is to go to Tony, which leads to Adriana's demise. It was actually a slightly unsubtle way to eludicate his thought process.
How to calculate totals on a memo Field in MS Access 2010?
I have imported data from MS Access (mdt) file to MS SQL. Now I would like to test that the long text was not truncated during the import.
