What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means to help in the creation of the historical record, and to provide the public with the most accurate information, whatever the cost.

I prefer to be pitched on a wide variety of stories.

I mostly rely on a digital camera and laptop for my work.

Why did you become a journalist?
I wanted to follow in the footsteps of the greats, including Woodward, Bernstein, Capa, and Hemingway.

I did not work for my high school newspaper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am most proud on my story regarding recovery following the Haitian Earthquake.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
My advice would be to read and write as much and as often as possible.

I am always available, especially when breaking international issues are the topic of concern.

I covered the War in Eastern Ukraine at it's height.

The worst pitch was a minor article reporting on the history of St. Patrick's Day.

My favorite drink is anything involving caffeine.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I am most likely to be teaching or traveling.

The British Broadcasting Corporation and Al-Jazeera are my favorite.

The most common misperception is that I have a particular political goal/agenda that I am representing.
