Being a reporter for my college newspaper with some freelance sportswriting for the athletics department on the side

The wealth of sources and takes on things is potentially good, but there are many problems. It opens people up to context more than ever
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Conveying information to people in useful and intelligible ways. It also means knowing when to be critical of narratives
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Bridge, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Evernote, and Audacity

Twitter, particularly its list feature.

Why did you become a journalist?
I thought it was a great way for me to utilize my strengths as a science major who loves learning things and writing

Keep writing. There is always room for improvement.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Probably on weekends so I can start planning my next week's tasks
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I was asked to drive 2 hours away to essentially write an ad for a museum that had no connection my reader base at the time

Alcoholic: Lemon drop martini with Deep Eddy's Lemon
