Another Surgery For Jonathon Brooks, Out "At Least" 6 Weeks
2026 Fantasy Football Impact Brooks is out until at least Week 9, and it'd be multiple weeks beyond that before he could even be considered in fantasy lineups. He can be dropped from all but the deepest of redraft rosters. Brooks' absence keeps RB Chuba Hubbard in a feature role. His volume has been muted so far -- 22 carries and 5 targets -- but he's played 66% of Carolina's offensive snaps.
The Panthers consider RB Jonathon Brooks "week-to-week while he gets second opinions on his groin injury," according to Tom Pelissero of The Ringer. Brooks suffered the initial injury in training camp and aggravated it in Sunday's win over the Falcons. 2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Hubbard Gets Easier to Use Getting "second opinions" certainly doesn't sound good.

Jonathon Brooks' Soreness Clouds Panthers Backfield Before Week 1
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Week 1 Looks Messy Brooks made it through the offseason healthy, and the fact that he's still getting work in with the training staff suggests this isn't serious. But it still bears monitoring with Carolina's opener just 11 days away. RB Chuba Hubbard has been a full-go this week after missing time with a hamstring injury and might be the healthier of Carolina's top two backs right now. This figures to be a tough backfield to project for Week 1 fantasy lineups.
Late-Round RB Targets For Early Best Ball Drafts: Jordan Mason Has Hidden Upside For 2026
Few positions in the NFL are more dependent on opportunity than running back. Depth charts matter. Injuries matter. Coaching tendencies matter. And, in best ball, that’s exactly why late-round running backs are so appealing. Hunting For Late-Round RB Targets In Best Ball There’s no better recent example than the 2024 49ers. Injuries limited superstar Christian McCaffrey to just four games, creating a major opening for Jordan Mason, who responded with nearly 900 scrimmage yards across a dozen contests.
Fantasy Football Strategy: Targeting Jonathon Brooks, ADP RB29, Carolina Panthers
The Panthers seem like they have been in a rebuild ever since the prime years (and decline) of Cam Newton, but it was made official when they had the first overall selection and used it to draft Bryce Young last year. Young did not have the kind of year expected for a first-year QB, with almost as many interceptions as he did touchdown passes (11-10) and managing 2 wins, each coming by only 2 points.
Cowboys hosting 30 prospects at The Star this week ⋆ Inside The Star Original
The Dallas Cowboys are hosting some top prospects entering the NFL draft this week at the Star. Thirty prospects will be in Dallas this week. Since Mike McCarthy took over as the head coach, they have drafted excellent players who have been to The Star on a top-30 visit. I understand the Cowboys will not reach their goal of winning a Super Bowl by drafting these guys, but right now it is all we have to talk about.
