Integrative clinical–genomic modeling evaluates exploratory Non-APOE candidate signals in Alzheimer’s disease
Background Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by a genetic architecture dominated by APOE, while predictive modeling in clinically enriched cohorts is often driven by neuropsychological and clinical variables. This combination limits the interpretability of secondary genetic signals in multimodal frameworks. Methods We applied a two-stage Korean WES–WGS design across the Alzheimer’s continuum.
Frontiers | Multi-year variability of summer phytoplankton biomass and size structure in the northern Chukchi and East Siberian Seas, Arctic Ocean: role of light and nutrient availability
1 Introduction The Arctic Ocean is undergoing dramatic changes such as the rapid retreat of seasonal sea ice (Perovich, 2011), increase in river discharge into the Arctic Ocean (Peterson et al., 2002), and alterations in ocean circulation (Polyakov et al., 2020). Several studies have examined the effects of these environmental changes on marine ecosystems, particularly phytoplankton (Kahru et al., 2011; Ardyna and Arrigo, 2020).
Hunting paleoceanographic archives of ice sheet-ocean interaction in the northwestern Ross Sea, Antarctica
1 Introduction The glaciated continental margins display geomorphic and sedimentary features that contain invaluable records, shedding light on variations in intensity and shifts in the locations of ocean bottom currents influenced by ice sheet dynamics (Rebesco et al., 1996; Dowdeswell et al., 2006; Uenzelmann-Neben, 2006; 2018; Pérez et al., 2015; Lasabuda et al., 2018; Le Heron et al., 2019; Rydningen et al., 2020; Mosher and Boggild, 2021; Bjordal-Olsen et al., 2023).

Impact of High Methane Flux on the Properties of Pore Fluid and Methane-Derived Authigenic Carbonate in the ARAON Mounds, Chukchi Sea
Introduction Methane (CH4) seepages (cold seeps) migrating from deep sediment to the seafloor have widely occurred along continental margins (Campbell, 2006; Judd and Hovland, 2007; Suess, 2014 and references therein). However, most of the CH4 released by this mechanism is consumed in the sediments and/or in the water column before reaching the atmosphere (Boetius et al., 2000; Boetius and Wenzhöfer, 2013).
