What was your first job as a journalist?

An Interview Producer at Sky News. It helped me build a network that has served me throughout my career.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Not that old :).

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Growing up in the UK, Bridget Jones will always have a special place in my heart.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

For me it means working to tell the stories that no one else is telling, and listening to the voices others are choosing not to hear.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

Bisan's series from Gaza, which won an Emmy, a Murrow, and a Peabody, and brought a unique voice to a new generation globally.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

You need 3 things. 1) High quality, relevant ideas. 2) The technical skills to execute them. 3) The journalistic skills to avoid a screw up.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At spin class. Keeps me sane in the news cycle.
