I’m a veteran writer, reporter, editor, correspondent and anchor with extensive experience covering music, culture, film, socio-politics and LGBTQ+ issues, for some of the most influential brands in 21st Century media.
I began as a news writer and correspondent at MTV News, reporting on daily news, live breaking news coverage and special events, as well as multiple music- and politically-oriented special programs, including the Peabody Award-winning youth vote initiative “Choose Or Lose.” Live programming ranged from the MTV Video Music Awards, Total Request Live, Live 8 and Woodstock ‘98 to Election Night coverage, 9/11, Columbine, the Iraq War, the evolution of same sex marriage in the U.S., and much more. I became the most prolific interviewer in the history of MTV News, with subjects including the biggest names in music, politics, tech and social activism.
Following MTV, I co-founded and served as Managing Editor of a music discovery site, Noisevox; served as Supervising Producer at the nightly “Fuse News” on the Fuse network; served as writer and host annually at South By Southwest and the Recording Academy’s yearly “Grammy Live” webcast; co-produced and hosted 22-episode podcasts for the Sasquatch and Bonnaroo music festivals, in conjunction with Live Nation; and contributed freelance news and feature writing for The Daily Beast, VICE, V and VMAN, Yahoo News, Entertainment Weekly, SPIN, Pigeons & Planes and Lyrical Lemonade.
Currently I contribute regularly to Billboard, and appear as a fill-in host and guest on the Sirius XM channels Insight and Volume.
