What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job (the one I have now) is being a full-time staff writer at the Chronicle in Willimantic, CT.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
No, I have never used a typewriter, but I have always wanted to see how heavy one is.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Sally Field as "Megan" in Absence of Malice (1981) with Paul Newman.
What's your favorite social network?
With over 55,000 tweets and counting, I'd have to say is my favorite social network by far.
Why did you become a journalist?
I always asked a lot of questions of everyone around me growing up and I found a job that lets me do that while I get to inform the public.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, I wish I had.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Read. Read as much news as you can. Find a reporter or newspaper/website that you really like and read as many articles as you can.
