What was your first job as a journalist?
My first experience with journalism is being a high schools sports editor for the school paper. My first paid experience is with NHLTradeTalk
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have not but I might have in my dreams.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be able to give timely but important/relevant information to your target audience while also drawing new readers in.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer to be pitched through my work email. Anytime from 8am to 8pm EST works for me.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use a lot of wordpress, photo editing softwares, and sports analytic websites.
What's your favorite social network?
I spend a lot of time on youtube watching highlights or on X looking at the latest news.
Why did you become a journalist?
It was one of the first things I realized I was secretly good at. One day it just clicked for me, and I found it was really fun.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was the sports editor for two years and wrote sports for 4 years with the paper. I wrote articles, game briefs, and took game photos.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am most proud of my first student profile on health. This article got me into journalism and is one of my greatest works I've written.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Take the chances you feel are right for you. Reach out to the opportunities you feel best benefit you.

8am to 8pm EST

I was once given a pitch to write a double truck styled profile on two NFL player/coaches in my area—the rest is history.

I feel like milk honestly
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I'd most likely be found jamming out to 60s and 90s rock or glued to my TV watching the highlights from last night.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
I like to read a lot of DailyFaceoff or anything on TheAthletic. Outside of sports, you'll probably find me on NYT.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Some of my work can seem biased to some but it's just that I know my history and can envision ideas some can't, which shocks a few.
