Jordan Mendiola · Follow Published in Long-Term Perspective · 2 min read · -- Photo by gibblesmash asdf on Unsplash Many would agree with me that shopping at Costco is a game-changer. Yes, there’s a membership, but if you become a regular, it essentially pays for itself. The other day, I went in for a slice of pizza, a cookie, a drink, and a hot dog. Less than $7 bucks. No problem with that.

Tips for Adapting to a Digital Nomad Remote Work Lifestyle
Since the beginning of 2022, my girlfriend and I have been remote travelers. Samantha travels for work and I come with her while working remotely. We have lived in Chicago, Milwaukee, and now Iowa. Through all of the moves, it’s been essential for me to find a gym, and a work cafe, and optimize our home to something similar to what he has at our real home. Remote work is not for everyone. Without systems in place, it can be a painfully brutal and lonely journey.

The Story Behind Soldiers Leaving The Military
Retention in the Army can be extremely tough nowadays. People prefer not to be told what to do and don’t like their job controlling their life. In my time in the service, I missed my sister’s wedding, missed my childhood dog’s last days, and other meaningful milestones. Aside from life events, you are on your own but cultivate the group of people that you surround yourself with on a daily basis.
Turning Passion into Profit: The Power and Potential of a Career in Content Creation
Turning Passion into Profit: The Power and Potential of a Career in Content Creation In high school, we’re taught that we need to go to school, get a degree, and get good-paying jobs. But we are hardly ever taught and pushed to be entrepreneurs who have control of our time. Rightfully so, it’s risky, not the norm, and makes it tough to have a fallback plan. Betting on yourself is empowering though. It has benefits. You are true to yourself and may even be more proud of your identity.
5 Useful Ways to ApproachYour Day
Every day is an opportunity to make strides towards the goals you have in life. It starts with establishing the direction you want to go - build up your skills, expand your network, achieve fitness goals, etc. When you've got that under wraps, you can determine how to attack your days. Coming from a lot of different work backgrounds, living situations, and circumstances, I have several different approaches. Let me share with you five different ways to approach your day.
Why I Keep Coming Back
It's so easy to get motivated to run for a month and then quickly fall out of that good habit. If you don't make it an absolute priority, you can quickly gain weight and make the journey tough to start back up. But if you're determined to take care of your health and love getting that runner's high (I know I do), then you'll stick around a little longer. The health benefits of running extend beyond physicality. It takes you to another level mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
The Top 5 Lessons I Learned So Far in 2023
Every day is a new opportunity to change your life. Don't feel like going to work? But you do anyways? And you learn a valuable lesson? That's progress. Do you watch motivational videos about waking up at 5 am? Did you try it? Is it for you? You have nothing to lose by mixing it up and taking risks. 2023 has been a journey for me. Starting with a new job to experiencing a robbery at work, to optimizing my daily routine.
You WILL Succeed, But You Need to Pick Your Path
Treat yourself kindly and go achieve your goals. It will save you the headache, heartache, and regret more than if you don't. You're extremely driven, but don't know which direction to go? That's a problem. Major one. Pick a quest, and conquer it. Wanna get your degree? Great! Want to apply to your dream jobs and hope someone takes a chance? Good luck, honestly! Need a new environment or scenery? Save up so you can afford a place you're proud to live in! Whatever it takes.
You Know Your Potential, Yet Only YOU Hold Yourself Back
Earning that promotion, finishing college, landing the dream job, and making the side hustle the main hustle. Your brain tells you that you deserve better. You yourself know that you are better than where you're at! But oh no. Doubt creeps in. Jimmy from high school is working for an S&P 500 Company and appears to have it all. There's nothing more. He's earning over six figures, taking all these vacations, and seems to have figured life out. Wrong. Jimmy could be facing the most pressure he's ever had.
The Pressure to Produce is Crippling Creators
By Jordan Mendiola You just haven't had your moment yet. Photo by NEOM on Unsplash Every day you wake up, you have the chance to make the most of your day. You get up feeling energized, prideful in your work, and excited to challenge yourself. That would be an ideal way to wake up and approach every day. But as we all know, life isn't always sunny and easy. Your mindset is tested...
A Poll to My Fellow Writers
By Jordan Mendiola I would love to get your feedback! As a writer who joined the platform on an Army Deployment during Covid, I am stunned by the growth of Medium. When I joined it felt like a small little family, and now it feels like an entire galaxy's worth of content. However, I'm not sure if AI is going to make writing with authenticity a little shaken.
What Purpose Does Writing Serve You?
By Jordan Mendiola Writing has been an outlet for me at my highest and lowest. You have to fall in love with the process to continue grinding on a daily basis. What I Would Tell Someone if They Get Diagnosed With Psoriasis
Patient Blogs | Psoriasis It’s fascinating how we can take healthy skin for granted. I was a happy-go-lucky individual who played sports, went to school, worked hard, and had an adventurous spirit. Then one winter after college cross-country season, I noticed some bumps on my chest. I went in for a diagnosis, and they said psoriasis. A few days later, I was covered in red, patchy spots. Overwhelmed, I broke down crying in both disbelief and discomfort.
7 Marketing Moves for Engagement, Followers, and Views
So you want to grow your following, hm? You can’t quite do that without a constant flow of content. The best creators set a brief schedule for themselves and stick to it. Gaining traction is a tough task. Millions of other creators are chasing the same thing as you — to create content and live off it financially. I create a couple of articles a week and film one video a week and stick to it.
7 Ways to Fall Back in Love With Writing
The process can be a love/hate relationship. When I started out as a new writer, the world was mine. I felt like I had nothing to lose, and getting any reads was a success. Fast forward 2 years, I earned a minimum of $100 per month and won three months of $500 bonuses due to “top writer” status. After experiencing high amounts of success, I got comfortable setting expectations. But that’s the problem, with blogging, you can’t have any expectations.
The Effects Psoriasis Has on My Mental Health and Emotions 5 Years After My Diagnosis
Patient Blogs | Psoriasis Time heals all wounds, and in my case, time healed my confidence with psoriasis. The first year that I had all the patches, visibly irritated skin, and scarring was by far the hardest. It seems as though I went from someone with nearly flawless skin to someone who looked like they were exposed to allergic reactions throughout my body. Time allowed me to go through all five stages of grief and help me arrive at acceptance.
Key Indicators That Prove Whether You Are in Control of Your Life
We may feel helpless, but are we really? Getting a good grasp of our lives can be tricky when so many unique responsibilities come with being an adult. We blame the “system.” We blame our upbringing. We complain that we were dealt a bad card in life. While some of those may be true, people in the same circumstances have come out victorious. Do we ever really take full accountability for our day-to-day- lifestyles? Are there some things that we have control over but fail to realize?
Your Productivity Process Must Be Sustainable to Survive The Creator Economy
If you can't consistently produce at a high level, someone else will capture your opportunities. Every creator needs their own process to compete with the rest. With all the technological advances society has made in the past 20 years and the incentives and freedom that...
