How is social media changing news?
The over-use of the anonymous source card and the rush to publish content is changing the way we write. Also, media is now focusing on pleasing the Google algorithm instead of writing for humans. We are slaves of our own creation
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Basically being extremely curious, extremely passionate and extremely good at explaining things.
What's your favorite social network?
Tbh Tiktok is a great time waster. And it seems like the least toxic social network rn

Why did you become a journalist?
I lived in Venezuela and my mom got cancer. The United States imposed an embargo on my country that made it impossible to get her treatment. I started writing for foreign media sites and getting paid in crypto as a way to earn extra money to pay the overpriced medication she needed in order to save her life —and I succeeded.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My first story with Decrypt: The Petro is real and Venezuelans are using it. There's also the secret chain split of the Petro blockchain that the government could never explain. Besides that, I am really proud of my AI tutorials and stories
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't just write, propose new things. Expand your horizons and don't be shy
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Real: dudes are giving huge amounts of money to scammers using AI generated images of older women.
