What was your first job as a journalist?
Working chief correspondent for the B Post!
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! When i was in high school we did not have a computer at home. So, I had to use the typewriter to get some of my papers done!
How is social media changing news?
I love the fact that you can now push important stories with less of an investment.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
LOL. Mary Tyler More for sure! Loved her in the Dick Van Dyke Show too!
What does it mean to be a journalist?
If I could put it into one word it would be courage. You have to be brave enough to lose everything for a story if it means helping others.

#Ihavenoidea There are too many to name!
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
E-mail.

Canva for social media posting!

Anyone who cares about the topics I cover. Too much going on in the world right now to care about fame.
Why did you become a journalist?
To make a difference. I hope I am.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I did not but I always had a quote to give or was submitting my opinion for their opinion column.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Covering the persecution of the religious minority group of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia. That story is still ongoing.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Don't sacrifice your integrity as a journalist for anyone or anything.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Anytime.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
When Beyonce's team pitched me on her new product line. It was after I started my new talk show. When Bey pitches you, you know you made it!
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Someone just sending me a link with no content. Although it was a bad pitch, i still clicked the link and liked what I heard.
What's your favorite drink?
I love coffee!
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Volunteering in the community. I love working with families to help them focus on real hope for the future.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The New York Times. The various topics on wold affairs keeps me updated on present world trends.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
We all cover the same stories. Not at all true. I try to cover a variety of topics that are noting being covered by other media sources.
