It is a sign of the health and determination of the Irish poetry scene that a long-time stalwart like Southword magazine is making a return to the world of print, while new magazines like Gorse, Banshee, The Penny Dreadful, The Well Review… It speaks a lot to the integrity of a justice system when it finds somebody innocent based on the evidence, even when all involved are convinced of his guilt.

Amongst other credits he is a past winner of The Patrick Kavanagh Award and a current recipient of the Poetry Ireland Residency Bursary. He is the author of four books and writes a weekly column for The Irish Post. His pamphlet collection, 21; The Thing I Am, is forthcoming with Flarestack Press. His work has been published in literary journals throughout Ireland, the U.K., Europe and the US.
