Perfect supercurrent diode efficiency in chiral nanotube based weak links
Abstract The supercurrent diode effect (SDE) describes superconducting systems where the magnitude of the superconducting-to-normal state switching current differs for positive and negative current bias. Despite the ubiquity of such diode effects in Josephson devices, the fundamental conditions to observe a diode effect in a Josephson junction and achieve perfect diode efficiency remain unclear.
SU(4) symmetry breaking and induced superconductivity in graphene quantum Hall edges
In graphene, the approximate SU(4) symmetry associated with the spin and valley degrees of freedom in the quantum Hall (QH) regime is reflected in the fourfold degeneracy of graphene's Landau levels (LLs). Interactions and the Zeeman effect break such approximate symmetry and lift the corresponding degeneracy of the LLs. We study how the breaking of the approximate SU(4) symmetry affects the properties of graphene's QH edge modes located in proximity to a superconductor.
Leggett modes in a Dirac semimetal - Nature Physics
Abstract Experiments have shown that several materials, including MgB2, iron-based superconductors and monolayer NbSe2, are multiband superconductors. Superconducting pairing in multiple bands can give rise to phenomena not available in a single band, including Leggett modes. A Leggett mode is the collective periodic oscillation of the relative phase between the phases of the superconducting condensates formed in the different bands.
Microwave-tunable diode effect in asymmetric SQUIDs with topological Josephson junctions
In superconducting systems in which inversion and time-reversal symmetry are simultaneously broken the critical current for positive and negative current bias can be different. For superconducting systems formed by Josephson junctions (JJs) this effect is termed Josephson diode effect. In this paper, we study the Josephson diode effect for a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) formed by a topological JJ with a 4π-periodic current-phase relationship and a topologically trivial JJ.
Andreev reflection of quantum Hall states through a quantum point contact
We investigate the interplay between the quantum Hall (QH) effect and superconductivity in InAs surface quantum well (SQW)/NbTiN heterostructures using a quantum point contact (QPC). We use QPC to control the proximity of the edge states to the superconductor. By measuring the upstream and downstream resistances of the device, we investigate the efficiency of Andreev conversion at the InAs/NbTiN interface.
