How is social media changing news?
Social media has fundamentally transformed the landscape of news, changing not only how stories are delivered but also how they’re perceived and discussed. First, it’s accelerated the pace at which news spreads. Stories now break in real-time, often directly from sources or eyewitnesses before traditional media outlets can respond. This speed has its advantages—it democratizes information and gives voices to perspectives that might otherwise go unheard. However, it also challenges journalists to keep up without sacrificing accuracy or thoroughness.Second, social media allows readers to become active participants in the news. People can comment, share, and engage with stories, which opens up a new, direct channel of feedback for journalists. This interaction helps reporters understand public concerns, though it can also amplify misinformation or oversimplify complex issues. Finally, social media is reshaping the type of stories that gain traction. Algorithms often favor content with high engagement, which can prioritize sensationalist or emotionally charged pieces over nuanced reporting. Journalists today have to balance the need to connect with audiences online while staying true to the principles of objective and accurate reporting.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Ghost for publication because it's open source and free as in freedom.

The "Fediverse" is my favorite social network. It consists of platforms including Mastodon, Lemmy, Pixelfed, Misskey, and Ghost as of recent
When's the best time to pitch you?
The time is never right, pitch me any time!
What's your favorite drink?
I would say water. It's simple, healthy, and gets the job done.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
The most common misperception about my beat is that the topics I cover—space exploration, blockchain technology, and biohacking—are purely theoretical or futuristic. People often assume these fields don’t have direct, real-world applications. In reality, these areas are deeply interconnected and have a tangible impact on how we approach the future. For instance, advancements in blockchain are transforming data security and transparency, critical for both scientific research and personal data protection. Similarly, biohacking isn’t just about extreme experimentation; it’s about understanding and optimizing human health, which has profound implications for long-term space missions. My aim is to show how these emerging technologies influence everything from personal health to societal infrastructure, and why they deserve thoughtful consideration today—not just in a hypothetical future.
