The race to be first has come at the expense of accuracy and, far too often, tact.

Ray Barone. A regular guy just living the dream.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means covering the news and stories that people need and want to know about in an honest and unbiased fashion.

Why did you become a journalist?
To cover the sports that I love.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My first piece on the Chicago Bears for Clocker Sports (https://tinyurl.com/ms5xsfjr). It helped me land my first paid writing gig.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Enjoy the grind. The payoff will come. But you have to put in the work first. So, enjoy the entire experience of following your passion.

The Athletic and FiveThirtyEight because they go beyond the typical story.
