Seriously! We CAN stop RINOcare by this Wednesday. Here's how
This is the week that Paul Ryan’s, R-Wisc (F, 51%) RINOcare legislation may hit a brick wall. The House Committee on the Budget is scheduled to meet on Wednesday morning. If the three members of the committee who belong to the House Freedom Caucus stand firm, there is only a one vote margin between passage and defeat. There are members on the committee who have made opposition to Obamacare regulations and Medicaid expansion a significant portion of their campaign rhetoric.
I know why I’m a conservative. Do you?
This column is not about Milo, although his star going supernova certainly inspired its timing. It’s about us. Over the past couple of decades, it’s become painfully obvious that despite all the books we’ve sold and conferences we’ve sold out, most Americans still cannot define what “conservatism” actually is.
There's a wrong way to do health care tax credits, and then there's Rand Paul
Tax credits. They pop up somewhere in the discussion of nearly any Republican reform plan, from welfare to education, but especially health care. Indeed, many conservatives have embraced various tax credit schemes as a great way to increase freedom by putting money back into the hands of We the People. But not all tax credits are created equal, and that tension is evident in the debate over replacing Obamacare.
3 ways Trump can change the narrative this week
Last week was a disaster for the Trump administration, and there’s no other way to spin it. It was the type of sloppy, antic-laden performance that will exasperate the electorate and cause them to lose patience if it continues. Yes, it’s only week three, but Trump already came into the White House with the highest negatives ever by a presidential campaign winner. He’s now got the worst approval rating of any president this early into his tenure ever, too.
Levin UNLOADS on the liberal Republican “buffoons” blocking DeVos’ confirmation
Enflamed that at the news that “buffoon” Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska (F, 20%) and Susan Collins, R-Maine (F, 10%) pledged to stymie the vote on President Trump’s education pick Wednesday, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin unloaded on the two for sabotaging the appointment of Betsy DeVos. Without the two liberal Republican senators’ votes in the chamber, Vice President Mike Pence might be forced to serve as the tie-breaking vote.
Shapiro: The Left won't stop threatening violence against Trump
We're barely a week and a half into President Trump's administration, and the Left is in sheer panic mode. We've seen headlines blaring that Trump instituted a Muslim ban (he didn't). We've seen speculation that the Trump White House's failure to clearly inform the Department of Homeland Security how to implement his immigration executive order amounts to an attempted coup (nope).
Will Mattis and Pompeo set Trump right on torture?
Week one of the Trump administration, and for some reason reauthorizing torture appears to have been high on someone’s priority list. A draft executive action obtained by The New York Times contained a rollback of President Obama’s prohibition of torture, among other dubious practices of the CIA in the Bush/Cheney-era. White House spokesman Sean Spicer quickly denied that the document had originated from the White House, and no such executive action has been signed to date.
Why conservatives should urge President Trump to appoint Mike Lee to the Supreme Court
On Thursday, President Trump is slated to announce what could very well be the most important decision he’ll make the next four years — the long-awaited replacement for Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court. So far, President Trump has done a solid job of keeping his campaign promises. But his promise to appoint pro-life justices is among those he’s been the most adamant about following through on.
Mark Levin: I’d expect this from liberals, but NOT Republicans
President Donald Trump has floated the idea of a 20 percent tax on all Mexican imports as a way to reduce America's trade deficit and fund the U.S.-Mexico border wall. The problem? As Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin pointed out on his radio show Thursday night, if the government imposes a 20 percent tax on the southern imports, it's not Mexicans or their government that'd be paying the tax — YOU ARE. Listen: “Mexico doesn’t get taxed on anything! Not a thing! Zero!” Levin said.
FINALLY! Sen. Rand Paul offers worthy Obamacare alternative GOP can get behind
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. (A, 92%) has been nothing if not vocal about his belief that a new set of health care reforms should be voted on at the same time as a repeal of Obamacare. This week, Sen. Paul has revealed his proposal to replace Obamacare, by introducing S. 222, the Obamacare Replacement Act.
Why we need Trump's weekly police blotter on illegal alien crime
President Trump’s DHS is going to publish a weekly, rolling report on illegal alien crime. This is something that American citizens — on both sides of the immigration debate — need and deserve.
Change we can believe in: Trump’s executive orders for American sovereignty are game-changers
"A nation without borders is not a nation" ~ Donald Trump today at the Department of Homeland Security It’s Christmas come early for conservatives. Actually, for all Americans who care about homeland security. Today represents a turning point in which President Donald Trump has used Obama’s pen and phone for the first game-changing series of executive actions. The core job of the federal government is not to get involved in health insurance or “stimulate” the economy.
SCOTUS declines to protect Texas from tyrannical lower court injunction on voter ID law
Americans must show a form of photo ID to purchase a pack of Sudafed or to engage in any major transaction. Yet according to almost every lower court — including the “conservative” Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals — states can’t use their plenary power over election procedures to require a photo ID in order to protect the integrity of our democracy. Today, the Supreme Court declined to take up the appeal from the state of Texas in a bid to overturn the Fifth Circuit’s unconstitutional opinion.
Why even the Left won’t agree to reduce the power of President Trump
It has been a standard expectation, since at least the turn of the 20th century, that each president is likely to pass on an office to his successor that is more powerful than what he himself inherited. The rule seems to be that each party will complain about the overreach of the executive branch when the opposite party controls the White House, and then immediately forget their objections the second their party regains control.
‘Stephanie’ Crowder punks Wendy Davis at the Women's March and it's absolutely brilliant!
Steven Crowder has outdone himself. In what could be his most controversial and hilarious video yet, the Louder with Crowder host infiltrated the national Women’s March held over the weekend … dressed in drag. That’s right, Crowder and his producer NotGayJared went undercover as transgendered men. Or is it transgendered-women? Trans-women-men? These pronouns are confusing. What’s not confusing is the far-Left, radical agenda Crowder filmed march attendees espousing. What is “p*ssy economics”?
Sen. Cornyn UNLOADS the truth about the Left’s witch-hunt on Jeff Sessions
In a hearing otherwise hallmarked by spin, misdirection, and character assassination, Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas (F, 42%) brought some much-needed clarity to the packed Judiciary Committee room on Wednesday. “I can’t believe that, in spite of the fact that we’ve had a national election, that the election is still ongoing,” Cornyn said in his opening remarks. The No. 2 Republican in charge was referring to the second day of the attorney general confirmation hearing for Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.
Levin: BuzzFeed’s Russia hack job is the Left ‘staging a coup’ against Trump
“It is time that we stand our ground in defending Donald Trump’s legitimacy,” said Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin during a fiery segment at the beginning of his radio show Wednesday night. “The praetorian guard media, the Democrat party … Academia and Hollywood are seeking a coup of sorts” against the president-elect. Levin was referring to a widely-panned “news” story at Buzzfeed that reported salacious, unverified, and disputed accounts of Trump’s dealing with Russia.
If you're black, Twitter racists say you can testify AGAINST Jeff Sessions but not FOR him
Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J. (F, 14%) appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday along with other black leaders to testify against the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. (C, 78%) as attorney general.
Named and shamed: Tom Cotton calls out Cory Booker's disgraceful Sessions chicanery
Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark. (C, 76%) penned an impassioned Facebook post Tuesday afternoon, calling out Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J. (F, 14%) for testifying against Donald Trump’s attorney general pick, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. (C, 78%). Sen.
The Jeff Sessions I know is a man with a good heart and a strong moral compass
Liberals in the Senate need to confirm Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala. (C, 78%) as President Donald Trump’s attorney general on Inauguration Day. Senate Democrats have argued for years that the filibuster is unconstitutional on nominations, yet they now want to stall Sessions and several other Trump nominees. I disagree with the idea that the filibuster is unconstitutional but believe that Democrats should be held to their own standard.

Subscribe: iTunes | Stitcher | Android | RSS FOLLOW Daniel Horowitz on Twitter Follow @RMConservative Podcast Show Notes Donald Trump was on the money when he recognized that the ethics office House Republicans attempted to defang was unfair and unaccountable, but that it was a dumb way to prioritize how they spend their political capital. The top 15 court cases that wreaked havoc on America’s core values in 2016
One of the breakthrough aspects of Conservative Review in 2016 was our increased focus on judicial tyranny up and down the federal judiciary. I was proud to accompany the release of my book, “Stolen Sovereignty,” with dozens of columns about the federal judiciary, demonstrating conclusively that its entire modern construction is irremediably broken.
Conservatives and libertarians: Don’t be fooled by these two extra-Constitutional grassroots movements
The call for an Article V Convention of States has flushed out some strange bedfellows seeking a common goal. Some groups claiming to be conservative are showing themselves to be involved in using deceptive rhetoric and false history to break up the Constitution. These particular political activists lament the formation of the American government under the Constitution. Yes, they look to to undermine it, using bits and pieces of history to back up their claims, much like American progressives do.
In the Left’s Russia hysteria, it is acting just like Russian propagandists
Among the most ironic reactions to the alleged Russian government hacking of DNC and Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s emails and subsequent leaks to WikiLeaks is this: In its hysteria, the Left is using an old Soviet tactic to delegitimize a U.S. presidential election and president-elect. Incidentally, this is a goal America’s worst enemies — including the Russians the Left now reviles — have never been able to achieve themselves.
The incredible and inspiring story of a Catholic health care worker fighting for her faith
Her belief in God carried her through a turbulent and almost fatal childhood, now Karen “Alexia” Palma is fighting for her right to live out her faith in her calling to help pregnant low-income moms in Houston’s inner city. Palma, who came to the U.S. from Guatemala as a child, worked at Houston’s low-income clinic Legacy Community Health, until she was fired for refusing to teach a class that violated her religious beliefs.

Syrians allied with rebel forces in Aleppo posted what amounted to goodbye videos this week as yet another Middle Eastern tyrant closed his grip around their throats. But the videos were also an 11th-hour attempt to raise awareness across the world about their cause. They spoke in calm voices about executions that were believed to be taking place as Bashar al-Assad’s forces hunted down those who seized control of the town four years ago.

13 victories conservatives want from President Trump by next Christmas
What should conservatives expect from Donald Trump’s first 100 days of presidency? Aided by full Democratic control of Congress, President Obama was able to do much harm in his first 100 days of White House control. In 2009, Obama had virtually free reign to implement his agenda.
75 years after Pearl Harbor, once bitter enemies are now unbreakable allies
Seventy-five years ago today, a calm, beautiful Hawaii morning was disrupted by the distant sound of the droning hum of nearly 200 aircraft, which confused residents who could see bore the red disc of Japan’s rising sun. At about 7:48, the Japanese airplanes began their coordinated attack on the many American military bases all over the island of Oahu, replacing tranquility with chaos and fire and destruction on a day that would live in infamy.
5 things pro-lifers have to celebrate as 2016 comes to a close
2016 has been rough on everyone, and the pro-life movement is no exception. With the loss of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in February, followed by major a pro-abortion victory in Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, the calendar year has been capped off by President Obama’s feeble, 11th-hour attempt to force states to fund Planned Parenthood. However, as the numbers and some key developments illustrate, advocates for the unborn actually have great cause to celebrate at year’s end.
Deace: My 2016 election predictions
It’s time to go on the record about what’s going to happen on Election Day. First, let’s take a look at what I believe will be the makeup of the electorate: High-volume turnout among white voters, particularly those who are less educated and older. Republicans will do better with these voters than they did in 2012, but Democrats will do better with college-educated whites this time. Millennial and black turnout will dip below 2012 levels.
‘Hacksaw Ridge:’ Heroic WWII story a triumphant return for Mel Gibson
“With the world so set on tearing itself apart, it don’t seem like such a bad thing to me to want to put a little bit of it back together.” – Desmond Doss Mel Gibson’s first turn behind the camera in a decade is quite the return. True to his past efforts, Gibson’s “Hacksaw Ridge” lacks in subtlety but delivers beautifully crafted visuals and writing and intense emotion to deliver a transcendent message via a true story of war.
With friends like these ... GOP’s Sensenbrenner is siding with Democrats and undermining election integrity
So how does a prominent senior Republican House member spend his final days before a major national election? Helping score points for the other party on a critical issue that will help his opponents obtain an unfair electoral advantage, of course! What else would we expect from the Republican Party? Yesterday, Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis.
Mark Levin: Calling Hillary Clinton ‘nasty’ isn’t sexist. That’s ENGLISH!
Closing out the week on the radio, Conservative Review Editor-in-Chief Mark Levin is back in action after a brief absence and he’s as fired up as ever. Levin blasted Hillary Clinton in his opening salvo, eviscerating her for violating the Espionage Act during the debate by irresponsibly divulging the United States’ nuclear response time to the entire world. Listen: “I want America to know!” Levin said.
Evan McMullin’s kamikaze mission
Evan McMullin’s Kamikaze mission against Republican nominee Donald Trump should raise some questions about the purpose of his campaign. There are five reasons why McMullin’s campaign is harmful to the Republican Party and conservative governance. As such, his candidacy should be treated as a bad joke. McMullin not qualified McMullin is not qualified to be president of the United States. For this reason alone, no sane voter should waste a vote on him. First of all, the guy is barely a public figure.
Hillary Clinton is a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing,’ just like her mentor
Hillary Clinton may be gaining in recent presidential polls against Donald Trump, but before those Americans go to the polls for the former secretary of state, they really ought to take a look at one of her most famous mentors: Saul Alinsky. To many in the world, the name Alinksy has become a special kind of boogeyman, a watchword for everything wrong with the modern American Left. And rightly so.
Like Romney, Trump can't attack Obamacare from his glass house
While our sad presidential reality show heads towards its series finale, there’s a crucial plot arc that has been conspicuously absent from recent episodes. There is major drama afoot in one of the areas that hits closest to home — health care. Our Democratic lead character (for whom health care is certainly a concern, on many levels) promises to double down on the failures of her predecessor; and yet, her Republican counterpart looks on in uncharacteristic silence.
Jihad strikes in Minnesota, right in the heart of refugee country
|
Fifteen years after 9/11, the internal jihad within our country has become so ubiquitous that regular attacks now go unreported, underreported, or unidentified by major media sources and law enforcement. Just this weekend, there was a bombing in Manhattan that injured 29 people, an explosion in Seaside, New Jersey, and a stabbing in St. Cloud, Minnesota that injured nine. While the details concerning the first two events are still murky, the attack in Minnesota was clearly an act of jihad.

Levin: I'm voting for Trump ... here's why
|
UPDATE: Here is the full audio of the entire Tuesday night show. Mark Levin made the big announcement Tuesday night on his radio show after methodically walking listeners through his rationale. At the beginning of the program, Levin made sure his real feelings were known. It was no secret that Levin’s first choice was not and is not Donald Trump.

Elder: Why the Anger? Obamanomics has Failed
President Barack Obama, when asked to name an accomplishment for which he is most proud, said, "I'm proud of saving the American economy." Breathtaking. Let's examine the facts, using only government, left wing -- or, at least, non-conservative -- statistics, sources or analyses. In 2012, the third year of the Obama recovery, the Associated Press wrote: "Since World War II, 10 U.S. recessions have been followed by a recovery that lasted at least three years.
