What was your first job as a journalist?
Digital reporter assigned in City Hall beat.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, but not for professional purposes.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
One has to be with the people, forgetting about one's own. Although exhausting at times, learning would be nonstop in this kind of work.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
My email works. However, I only check them during my working hours in the morning.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
MS Word and Grammarly.
What's your favorite social network?
Reddit, since it is a community-based social network.
Who do you wish followed you?
Aspiring journalists who have zero background in journalism.
Why did you become a journalist?
Serving the people would be a good thing, but it would be best if one does it through telling stories.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Environmental, political, and ethical issues, making the government authorities accountable.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Impartial news first, education follows.
When's the best time to pitch you?
I would love to be flexible when it comes to the pitch schedule. However, I prefer it during weekdays.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
Making the City Government take action on the residents' concerns regarding the stench at a nearby landfill.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
Each has its own challenges; what matters is how you cope with each different pitch.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee, whiskey, and cognac.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Running, watching movies, drinking coffee, taking photos.
