What was your first job as a journalist?

I was a reporter for a weekly community newspaper.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I took typing classes in Grade 9!

How is social media changing news?

Too many journalists treat it as a true representation of public opinions and base their reporting off it.

Why did you become a journalist?

Curiosity... and a passion for informing and engaging people.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Love what you do but don't fall in love with your employer because it will never love you back. Treat social media only as a tool.

What's your favorite drink?

Champagne

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

In front of the TV or reading in my hammock with a glass of wine.
