Jude Taha

Jude Taha is a Palestinian-Jordanian independent journalist and editor specializing in visual and written storytelling. As a full-time faculty member at the Jordan Media Institute, she teaches reporting and investigative/data journalism. Passionate about empowering Arab journalists, she focuses on building practical skills for impactful local reporting and amplifying underrepresented stories. Jude has assisted in creating capacity-building materials for underserved populations in Jordan and helped in the development of journalism curriculums. Jude holds an M.S from the Columbia Journalism School and she served as senior managing editor at Jordan News for two years. She has worked as a fact-checker with Drop Site News and Rest of World and as a translator for various media outlets in Arabic and English including This American Life. She has also reported on intersectional identities and solidarity movements, including her time as Columbia University's correspondent for Palestine in America, where she covered the "Gaza Solidarity Encampment." Jude is a co-creator of "Occupationnomore-columbia.com" and served as a producer for the documentary The Encampment. Her reporting spans asylum seekers, refugees, activists, and social justice movements in cities such as New York, Pittsburgh, Amman, and along the Syrian border. Her work has appeared in New Lines Magazine, The New Arab, Al Jazeera English, AJ+, Democracy Now!, 7iber, Al-Mamlaka TV, The Washington Post, and more. She is also a weekly co-host of a radio show in Amman at the station Beat FM.
