A lot more media reporting on the media. First major de-coupling of journalism from newspapers entirely. Opens up publishing to everyone.

When I was a girl it was Brenda Starr, Star Reporter. As an adult, William Boot from Evelyn Waugh's book, Scoop.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To be a journalist is to have a passion for truth.

Why did you become a journalist?
By accident. I needed a job and the newspaper needed a reporter. I became a journalist out of necessity, and stayed one out of passion.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope. I was a devoted track and x-country runner in my spare time.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Not any one, but I'm currently most proud of my archaeology/ecology stories from research on Canada's West Coast.
