From 1869, up until the end of World War II, there was only one ‘Brunello’ in Montalcino and that was Biondi-Santi’s Brunello. In the space of 57 years they produced only four vintages (1888, 1891, 1925, 1945). For the lucky ones, life was simple and the choice was made for you. Today, the wine market is complex and more accessible than ever. With so much information at our fingertips, everything has become easier. Everything, that is, except choosing.

Vogue UK Instagram Corkers

If you were reading the December 2015 issue of British Vogue, and had made your way past the diamonds and the party frocks to a feature on cocktails, you may have noticed a small grey box down the side of the page headed “Instagram Corkers”. It listed five of Vogue‘s favourite “winestagrammers”, a word I hadn’t come across before, and one of them was me, @winewomansong, credited with “informative posts by wine blogger Juel Mahoney”.
