Sanders Theatre: Down With Dark Academia
As someone who until very recently spent a great deal of time scrolling through TikTok, I know a fair amount about aesthetic subcultures. Cottagecore? I’ve watched more than a few homemade ricotta tutorials. Tomato Summer? Lamented its rise; celebrated its collapse. Office siren? Got called that by Indy Copy Editor Megan Legault ’28.
Kate Hamill’s “Odyssey” Makes Waves
BY: JULES SANDERS ’28 AND NASHLA TURCIOS ’28 Jules: I have a troubling confession to make: I cannot help but spoil things for myself. Every time I see a Broadway play or start a new television show, I look up the entire plot beforehand so I know what to expect.
A Guide to Jules Sanders’s Room Decorations
Last weekend, my friends pointed out to me that they had never seen my dorm. My room—a Canaday hallway single that cannot imaginably exceed about 120 square feet—isn’t somewhere I spend a lot of time, largely on account of the (probably wrong) size estimation I just provided.
Jules Sanders’s 2025 Ins and Outs
For the past month, countless people have come to me asking for my personal 2025 in-and-out list. As the CEO of Good Taste, I knew my peers would inevitably levee this responsibility—nay, burden— onto me. 119th Congress: A Fundamentals Forecast
Though all eyes will be on the presidential race on Nov. 5, every seat of the House of Representatives is also up for election. Our fundamentals forecast utilizes national political trends, as well as outlying factors distinctive to individual districts, to predict the winner of each of these races.
The Harvard Students who Vote Socialist
Harvard Vote Socialist, a political organization founded on campus this September, has quickly mobilized a portion of Harvard undergraduate students to campaign for Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia, the 2024 presidential and vice-presidential candidates running on the Party of Socialism and Liberation (PSL) ticket.
The Languages Less Taken
Harvard College offers courses and tutorials on 98 world languages, with even more available upon special request. From Mandarin Chinese, spoken by 1.1 billion people worldwide, to Old Church Slavonic, a medieval proto-Slavic language only occasionally used in some Orthodox and Eastern-Rite Catholic church services today, undergraduate language offerings span continents and millennia—yet few students take advantage of the diversity of courses available.
Trauma-informed schools: A case study
I’m Jules Sanders and I’m the head of the multi-disciplinary team at School for Inspiring Talents. And I’m Megan Hornsby, mental health and wellbeing lead. We’d like to start by telling you a little bit about our school to help you to understand the context that we work in. School for Inspiring Talents was co-founded by Mark Escott in 2014. It’s a specialist independent day school and it was established to meet the needs of children and young people who have experienced trauma.
