Julia Allison’s Biography
Julia Allison is a Fellow at Harvard University’s Shorenstein Center for Media, Politics and Public Policy, where her work explores the intersection of social, independent and legacy media, with a focus on technology, culture, social impact, and innovation.
As a cultural commentator, entrepreneur, and former journalist, she has been recognized by The New York Times as having “pioneered internet fame” and by Rolling Stone as “inventing being an influencer.”
She began her career as the youngest full-time legislative staffer in the 107th Congress. As a journalist, she has been published in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Newsweek, and The Guardian, writing columns for Time Out New York, ELLE, and Tribune Media Services. She has appeared hundreds of times across major networks, from CNN and MSNBC to MTV, starred in a Bravo documentary tv series, and spoken on stages and universities around the world.
At 27, Julia appeared on the cover of WIRED as a prototype of the new media age, and has been profiled in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Slate, and Forbes, among others. New York Magazine named her one of the defining “It Girls” of her generation.
Julia is the founder of Reimagine Media, a narrative strategy firm advising socially responsible organizations. In partnership with her husband, Noah Feldman, Julia created The Bohemian Embassy, a cultural and community initiative dedicated to intentional gatherings and transformational experiences.
She holds a master’s degree from Harvard and a bachelor’s from Georgetown University.
