Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
As flawed as he was as a human being, Ernest Hemingway is still my favorite journalist and writer.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
I used to be a touring musician. When I stopped doing that to raise a family, journalism was my closest comparison to making music.

Haven't see one I find funny.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
by e-mail or messge.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I use my wife. Her editing is immaculate and her software is beyond compare.

Why did you become a journalist?
I was on the road for almost 15 years, When I got married, I simply did not want to leave my wife for months at a time.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
I was a musician in high school. I played in the school's all-star jazz band.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am writig a series of articles titled, "Inside L.A. Stage History." I am going to evexnually compile the series of articles into a book.

Monday through Friday (11am to 2pm)
What's the best pitch you ever got?
HBO asked me to interview all the writers who worked on Steven Spielberg's WWII epic, "The Pacific." It turned out to be a 6000 word feature.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
"I want you to inteview the lead actress in this series. Sorry, I don't know her name. She'll be right in."

editing my last feature.
