Retrieval Found the Sensitive Memory. That Made It More Dangerous.
This continues the research on why relevance alone is insufficient for agent memory safety. Article A showed that the governance-adjusted scoring formula is a diagnostic, not an improvement. The held-out packet falsified the stronger version of the claim: relevance-only BM25 beat the full scorer on that packet. The failure pointed at missing or wrong governs, shallow action-type inference, and the need for write-time checks. This article is about a different failure. Not a ranking-improvement claim.

Abstract MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNA molecules that are involved in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) either by promoting or inhibiting the transition from hepatic steatosis to steatohepatitis/fibrosis or even hepatocellular carcinoma. Mechanistically, miRNAs regulate the progression of MASLD through intercellular communication within hepatic tissues or remote transport into the liver from extrahepatic tissue.

In vivo CRISPR screens identify a dual function of MEN1 in regulating tumor–microenvironment interactions - Nature Genetics
Abstract Functional genomic screens in two-dimensional cell culture models are limited in identifying therapeutic targets that influence the tumor microenvironment. By comparing targeted CRISPR–Cas9 screens in a two-dimensional culture with xenografts derived from the same cell line, we identified MEN1 as the top hit that confers differential dropout effects in vitro and in vivo.

DNA double-strand break–capturing nuclear envelope tubules drive DNA repair - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology
Abstract Current models suggest that DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) can move to the nuclear periphery for repair. It is unclear to what extent human DSBs display such repositioning. Here we show that the human nuclear envelope localizes to DSBs in a manner depending on DNA damage response (DDR) kinases and cytoplasmic microtubules acetylated by α-tubulin acetyltransferase-1 (ATAT1).

Toast: The Problem With How It Is Earning Its Payment Revenue (NYSE:TOST)
Investment Thesis Toast, Inc. (NYSE:TOST) is a cloud-based point-of-sales (“POS”) software that is deployed to over 40,000 units, consisting of primarily SMBs (small and medium-sized business), as well as enterprise restaurants. Toast has been generating consistently strong growth over the past couple of quarters, which is impressive in my view. However, there is an issue with how Toast is generating its revenue, and I’d argue that it could be cannibalizing its own merchants.
IDT Q1 Earnings: Great Execution And Attractive Valuation (NYSE:IDT)
Summary IDT's NRS reported strong ARR growth (+107% Y/Y) and its EBITDA margin fell to 30% due to the decline in advertising revenue. Net2Phone achieved strong growth in seat counts and revenue growth, and it turned profitable during the quarter. BOSS Money reported strong top-line growth and it is suspected to hit breakeven by 2H23. The company’s overall profitability rose to 8% as a result of the improved profitability from NRS, Net2Phone and BOSS Money.
CrowdStrike Q3 Earnings: High Stock-Based Compensation A Concern
Summary Amidst the weak guidance and tough macro, CrowdStrike growth rates are still impressive as shown in top-line growth. Stock-based compensation (SBC) expense makes up 24% of its total revenue, and this is concerning. Earnings per share and free cash flow per share are suffering as a result of high SBC expense. Investment Thesis CrowdStrike (NASDAQ:CRWD) had a great quarter in terms of strong top-line and this was driven by strong customers addition and increasing module adoption.
