Can the digital economy enhance urban ecological environment resilience?
Abstract Based on city-level panel data of China from 2006 to 2022, this study develops comprehensive indicator system for urban ecological environment resilience, and derives the composite development index of urban ecological environment resilience via the entropy method.
[2608.19423] Shape-Preserving Covariate Adjustment via Empirical Likelihood in Randomized Experiment
Covariate adjustment improves estimation efficiency in randomized experiments, but standard calibration and augmentation methods, when applied to distribution or survival functions, do not preserve monotonicity---a fundamental property of the estimand. We propose using empirical likelihood with covariate-balancing constraints to construct a covariate-adjusted empirical measure for each treatment arm.
Deciphering the Functional Mechanisms of eIF3f in Tumors and Exploring Targeted Therapies
1 Introduction Cancer is fundamentally recognized as a cellular-level disorder, stemming primarily from mutations in genes that govern critical processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, metabolism, and DNA repair. Malignant tumors exhibit pronounced therapeutic resistance, contributing to their high mortality rates. Identifying risk factors, including cancer biomarkers and microbiome signatures, has become increasingly urgent in the development of therapeutic interventions [1].

Efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided microwave ablation for primary hyperparathyroidism: a dual-centre study
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ultrasound-guided microwave ablation (MWA) for the treatment of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT). This study enrolled 46 patients with PHPT from two centers between July 2019 and January 2024. The primary end point was clinical success, defined as the achievement of normal levels of both intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) and serum calcium at 6 months post-MWA (40/46).

Neuroprotective effects of traditional chinese medicine using zebrafish models ‐ a review
Abstract Neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke, remain major causes of global disability and mortality, with limited neuroprotective therapies available. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) offers multi-target therapeutic potential, but its mechanistic complexity requires systematic investigation using appropriate model systems.

Persistent increase and improved survival of stage I lung cancer based on a large-scale real-world sample of 26,226 cases.
Lung cancer prevails and induces high mortality around the world. This study provided real-world information on the evolution of clinicopathological profiles and survival outcomes of lung cancer, and provided survival information within finer stage I subtypes. Patients pathologically confirmed with lung cancer between January 2009 and December 2018 were identified with complete clinicopathological information, molecular testing results, and follow-up data.
Application of carbon nanosphere templates for preparation of inverse opal photonic crystals in dye‐sensitized solar cells

Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting in-hospital mortality of elderly patients with persistent sepsis-associated acute kidney injury in intensive care units: a retrospective cohort study using the MIMIC-IV database
Discussion Based on the current findings, obtained through both univariate and multivariate regression analyses, the risks of in-hospital death among geriatric patients with persistent S-AKI were associated with gender, AKI stage, BUN, GCS score, cancer, respiratory rate, CRRT within 48 hours and mechanical ventilation.
e' and RV-Sm as predictors of mortality
Introduction Sepsis is a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by an uncontrolled systemic inflammatory response that is induced by infection.1 Previous studies have shown that about 50% of patients with sepsis develop septic cardiomyopathy of varying degrees, and once septic cardiomyopathy occurs, the mortality rate can be as high as 70%–90%.2,3 Echocardiography is the most common non-invasive technique used to evaluate cardiac function.
GRP75 Modulates Endoplasmic Reticulum–Mitochondria Coupling and Accelerates Ca2+-Dependent Endothelial Cell Apoptosis in Diabetic Retinopathy
Abstract : Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and mitochondrial dysfunction play fundamental roles in the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy (DR). However, the interrelationship between the ER and mitochondria are poorly understood in DR. Here, we established high glucose (HG) or advanced glycosylation end products (AGE)-induced human retinal vascular endothelial cell (RMEC) models in vitro, as well as a streptozotocin (STZ)-induced DR rat model in vivo.
Mid-infrared photoluminescence revealing internal quantum efficiency enhancement of type-I and type-II InAs core/shell nanowires
Abstract Internal quantum efficiency (IQE) is an important figure of merit for photoelectric applications. While the InAs core/shell (c/s) nanowire (NW) is a promising solution for efficient quantum emission, the relationship between the IQE and shell coating remains unclear. This Letter reports mid-infrared PL measurements on InAs/InGaAs, InAs/AlSb, and InAs/GaSb c/s NWs, together with bare InAs NWs as a reference.
