MDP-YOLO: underwater object detection based on enhanced feature extraction
Abstract Underwater object detection is crucial for ocean exploration and conservation but remains challenging because of poor illumination, a high proportion of small objects, weak textures, and large-scale variations in underwater images. To address these issues, we propose MDP-YOLO, an underwater detector built on the YOLO11 baseline. The method focuses on feature-extraction enhancement and detail-preserving upsampling.

A New Insight into Acne Pathogenesis: Multi-Omics Links a Metabolite to C. acnes Expansion and Lipid Accumulation
Introduction Acne vulgaris, among the most prevalent dermatological conditions globally,1 is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder that substantially impairs quality of life and incurs considerable global healthcare costs.2 This disfiguring condition impacts both physical appearance and psychological well-being.3,4 Its pathogenesis entails multifactorial mechanisms including sebaceous hyperplasia, Cutibacterium acnes(C.acnes) colonization, pilosebaceous follicle hyperkeratinization, and...

Reversible surface modifications of functional proteins for accelerated cytosolic delivery via cell-penetrating peptide clusters - Nature Communications
Abstract A long-standing goal in biomedical research is to label and manipulate intracellular targets, which could be achieved through the cytosolic delivery of exogenous functional proteins. The development of Tat clusters has advanced the nontoxic intracellular delivery of functional antibodies at low concentrations, but the variety of proteins that can be successfully delivered remains limited.
Cost-benefit analysis of a 24/7 text-based online emotional support platform for at-risk youth in Hong Kong
Methods We conducted a model-based CBA using the SROI method. We chose this methodology because we lacked individual-level counterfactuals and postservice utilisation data owing to privacy issues.

Synthesis of Asp-based lactam cyclic peptides using amide-bonded diaminodiacid to prevent aspartimide formation
Synthesis of Asp-based lactam cyclic peptides using amide-bonded diaminodiacid to prevent aspartimide formation Asp-based lactam cyclic peptides are considered promising drug candidates. However, Fmoc solid-phase synthesis (Fmoc-SPPS) synthesized these peptides with aspartimide formation, resulting in low yields or even failure to obtain the target peptides. Here, we developed a diaminodiacid containing an amide bond as a β-carboxyl-protecting group for Asp to avoid aspartimide formation.
