What was your first job as a journalist?

My first job as a journalist was my editorial fellowship with Mother Jones magazine - basically a full-time fact-checker.

A short, thoughtful email, based on some research into my work.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist when I landed my first journalism gig -- as an editorial intern and editorial fellow with Mother Jones magazine.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My e-book on Denmark's clean energy transition, Quitting Carbon.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Late evening, California time, when everything slows down.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

On a hike, browsing in a bookstore, or enjoying a good beer with friends.
