The exclusive photoproduction of $\Upsilon$(nS) meson states from protons, $\gamma$p $ \to\Upsilon$(nS)p (with n=1,2,3), is studied in ultraperipheral pPb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} =$ 5.02 TeV. The measurement is performed using the $\Upsilon$(nS)$\to \mu^+\mu^-$ decay mode, with data collected by the CMS experiment corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 32.6 nb$^{-1}$.
Search for Dark Matter produced in association with bottom quarks in $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV proton-proton collisions with the CMS detector
Dark matter is hypothesized to constitute about 80% of the total matter in the universe. While existence and effects of dark matter are quite evident in astrophysical observations, it has not yet been experimentally observed. Besides direct and indirect searches for dark matter, collider experiments also present us with a possibility to produce and detect dark matter in the laboratory.
Search for a heavy right-handed W boson and a heavy neutrino in events with two same-flavor leptons and two jets at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV
A search for a heavy right-handed W boson (W$_\mathrm{R}$) decaying to a heavy right-handed neutrino and a charged lepton in events with two same-flavor leptons (e or $\mu$) and two jets, is presented. The analysis is based on proton-proton collision data, collected by the CMS Collaboration at the LHC in 2016 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$.

A search for new high-mass resonances in proton-proton collisions having final states with an electron or muon and missing transverse momentum is presented. The analysis uses proton-proton collision data collected in 2016 with the CMS detector at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$. The transverse mass distribution of the charged lepton-neutrino system is used as the discriminating variable.
Observation of medium induced modifications of jet fragmentation in PbPb collisions using isolated-photon-tagged jets : arXiv
Measurements of fragmentation functions for jets associated with an isolated photon are presented for the first time in pp and PbPb collisions. The analysis uses data collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV.
Search for standard model production of four top quarks with same-sign and multilepton final states in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV : arXiv
A search for standard model production of four top quarks ($\mathrm{t}\overline{\mathrm{t}}\mathrm{t}\overline{\mathrm{t}})$ is reported using events containing at least three leptons (e, $\mu$) or a same-sign lepton pair. The events are produced in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV at the LHC, and the data sample, recorded in 2016, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$.
Challenges to the chiral magnetic wave using charge-dependent azimuthal anisotropies in pPb and PbPb collisions at $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV : arXiv
Charge-dependent anisotropy Fourier coefficients ($v_n$) of particle azimuthal distributions are measured in pPb and PbPb collisions at $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC.
Search for heavy resonances decaying to a top quark and a bottom quark in the lepton+jets final state in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
A search is presented for narrow heavy resonances decaying to a top quark and a bottom quark using data collected by the CMS experiment at $ \sqrt{\smash[b]{s}} = $ 13 TeV in 2016. The data set analyzed corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$\smash[t]{^{-1}}$. Final states that include a single lepton (e, $\mu$), multiple jets, and missing transverse momentum are analyzed.
Measurement of the semileptonic $\mathrm{ t \bar{t} }$+$\gamma$ production cross section in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV
A measurement of the cross section for top quark-antiquark ($\mathrm{ t \bar{t} }$) pairs produced in association with a photon in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV is presented. The analysis uses data collected with the CMS detector at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb$^{-1}$.
Suppression of excited ${\Upsilon} $ states relative to the ground state in PbPb collisions at ${\sqrt{{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV
The relative yields of $ {\Upsilon} $ mesons produced in pp and PbPb collisions at ${\sqrt{{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}}} = $ 5.02 TeV and reconstructed via the dimuon decay channel are measured using data collected by the CMS experiment. Double ratios are formed by comparing the yields of the excited states, $ {\Upsilon(\mathrm{2S})} $ and $ {\Upsilon(\mathrm{3S})} $, to the ground state, $ {\Upsilon(\mathrm{1S})} $, in both PbPb and pp collisions at the same center-of-mass energy.
Measurement of Top Quark Pair Production Cross section at √s = 7 TeV and Estimation of Top Quark Mass using CMS Data
High center-of-mass energies at the LHC result in the production of a lot of top quarks, the heaviest elementary particle in the Standard Model. This makes data collected from LHC collisions ideal for studying properties of the top quark and its production cross section at LHC energy ranges. The cross section of top quark pair production from proton-proton collisions at ?s = 7 TeV is measured from $50\ \textrm{pb}^{-1}$ of CMS data collected in 2011 at the LHC.

Measurements of the five most significant angular coefficients, $A_{0}$ through $A_{4}$, for Z bosons produced in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV and decaying to $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ are presented as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity of Z boson. The integrated luminosity of the dataset collected with the CMS detector at the LHC corresponds to 19.7 fb$^{-1}$.
