K. C. Dermody’s Biography

K.C. has been a freelance travel writer for over 18 years. She's traveled to every state in the U.S. and nearly 60 countries, with a focus on Europe and the Americas. She splits her time between Seattle and Baja California Sur, Mexico, frequently traveling in between with a love for adventure and wildlife. Some of her coolest experiences have included hugging a gray whale and rubbing the belly of a sea lion pup in the Sea of Cortez, being just a few feet away from grizzly bears on a beach in Alaska, paddling while surrounded by beluga whales in the Arctic, canoeing through the Amazon in the dark, and spending the night alone in a haunted Irish castle.

K.C. was a featured writer for Yahoo! Travel from 2010 through 2013 and is the author of Best Travel Guide for First Time Visitors to Ireland, an Amazon bestseller every year between 2013 and 2016.
