ABSTRACT The study explores pedestrian experiences of shared e-scooters in relation to safety and comfort, and issues of discrimination, considering disability as an important dimension. It differentiates between the views of those who have ridden e-scooters and those who have not. It draws on a survey (N = 643) and walk-along interviews (N = 9) as part of an evaluation of the West of England rental e-scooter trial.
Keywords genomic imprinting DNA methylation naive pluripotency epigenetic instability QTL mapping diversity outbred mice Introduction Naive pluripotent stem cells (nPSCs) are capable of extensive ex vivo self-renewal, amenable to lead genome engineering, and can differentiate into all somatic cell types. This combination of features makes nPSCs, in principle, tailor-made for regenerative medicine applications.
Therapeutic angiogenesis has been a sought after treatment strategy for coronary artery disease (CAD) and peripheral artery disease (PAD) patients not suitable for conventional therapy. To date, therapeutic angiogenesis strategies have focused on delivery of pro-angiogenic molecules/cells and not on suppression of counteracting endogenous negative regulators of angiogenesis such as angiostatin, which has been shown to be elevated in cardiovascular disease patients.
I. INTRODUCTION Plastic deformation in metals occurs by intermittent motion of dislocations as has been shown in many experimental settings. Early observations of metal deformation proceeding in discrete steps are detailed in reviews by Argon11. A. S. Argon, “Strain avalanches in plasticity,” Philos.
