Confirming the substantial contribution of ozone-depleting halocarbon emissions to global warming during the second half of the 20th century
Abstract Ozone-depleting halocarbons (OD-HCs) are potent greenhouse gases but can also cause radiative cooling by depleting stratospheric ozone. Previously, global climate models revealed substantial OD-HC-driven warming in the second half of the 20th century, with only partial offset by ozone loss.
Impact of oxidation on rheology and tribology of sustainable lubricants for electromechanical drive systems
1 INTRODUCTION Lubricants are used to grease sliding and rolling elements, reducing friction, wear and corrosion of components and providing cooling. In doing so, costly repairs and new purchases are avoided, whereby lubricants contribute to resource efficiency. Lubricants are mainly used in vehicles and construction machinery, the largest use is in the automotive industry (55 % to 60 % of approximately 1 million tons of lubricants in Germany) 1.
The relationship between lateral hip muscle morphology and hip-related quality of life in active young adults with hip/groin pain
Introduction: Hip/groin pain is a chronic condition that can impact daily life and sports participation. Identifying modifiable factors to help manage symptoms and improve outcomes is crucial. Recent research suggests that lateral hip muscle morphology (size and quality) can impact on optimal hip function and pain presentation. However, the association between hip muscle morphology and hip-related quality of life (QoL) in active young adults with hip/groin pain is unclear.
The relationship between hip muscle strength and lateral hip muscle morphology in active young adults with hip/groin pain
Introduction: Hip/groin pain is a common issue among young active adults. Weakness in the lateral hip muscles, including the gluteal muscles and tensor fascia latae, is often seen in individuals with hip/groin pain, which can impact sporting performance and daily activities. Muscle morphology (size and fatty infiltrate) has been demonstrated as a contributing factor in force development of muscles (e.g., strength).
Interplay of structure and magnetism in ${\mathrm{LuFe}}_{4}{\mathrm{Ge}}_{2}$ tuned by hydrostatic pressure
Abstract LuFe4Ge2 crystallizes in the ZrFe4Si2-type structure, hosting chains of Fe tetrahedra giving rise to geometric frustration and low dimensionality. The compound orders antiferromagnetically at around 36 K accompanied by a simultaneous structural transition from a tetragonal phase to an orthorhombic phase.

Evaluating a learning progression on ‘Transformation of Matter’ on the lower secondary level
One of the most central tenets of chemistry education is developing an understanding of the processes that involve the Transformation of Matter. Current German curricula postulate content-related abilities (Kompetenzen) that are expected to be achieved by secondary students when graduating from the lower secondary level at grade 10. These abilities can further be differentiated as relating to either structural aspects of matter or to aspects of chemical reaction.
Melting curve analysis in canine lymphoma by calculating maximum fluorescence decrease
PARR is widely used in the diagnostics of canine lymphoma. In human and veterinary medicine, melting curve analysis (MCA) has successfully been introduced to facilitate the process. Since visual interpretation of melting curves can be rather subjective, the purpose of this study was to develop an objective interpretation of melting curves by calculating the maximum fluorescence decrease (dF ) within a defined rise of temperature.
Recent progress in surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy for biological and biomedical applications: from cells to clinics
The application of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) in biological and biomedical detection schemes is feasible due to its excellent molecular specificity and high sensitivity as well as the capability of SERS to be performed in complex biological compositions. SERS-based investigation of cells, which are the basic structure and functional unit of organisms, represents the starting point of this review.
Detection of monoclonality in intestinal lymphoma with polymerase chain reaction for antigen receptor gene rearrangement analysis to differentiate from enteritis in dogs - Ohmura - 2015 - Veterinary and Comparative Oncology - Wiley Online Library
The diagnosis of canine intestinal lymphoma by morphological examination is challenging, especially when endoscopic tissue specimens are used. The utility of detection of antigen receptor gene rearrangement by polymerase chain reaction (PARR) in canine lymphoma has been well established, but its usefulness to distinguish enteritis and intestinal lymphoma remains unclear.

Standardized surgery for colonic cancer: complete mesocolic excision and central ligation - technical notes and outcome
Prof. W. Hohenberger, Department of Surgery, University Hospital Erlangen, Krankenhausstr. 12, D-91054, Erlangen, Germany. E-mail: werner.hohenberger@uk-erlangen.de Abstract Objective Total mesorectal excision (TME) as proposed by R.J. Heald more than 20 years ago, is nowadays accepted worldwide for optimal rectal cancer surgery. This technique is focused on an intact package of the tumour and its main lymphatic drainage.
